3. Setup Guide

As a barebone unit, the AOOSTAR MACO Mini PC requires the installation of RAM and an SSD before first use.

3.1 Installing RAM and SSD

The MACO Mini PC supports dual M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs and DDR5 5600MHz RAM. Refer to the internal diagram for slot locations.

  1. Carefully open the chassis of the Mini PC.
  2. Locate the DDR5 RAM slots and M.2 SSD slots.
  3. Insert the DDR5 RAM modules into the slots, ensuring they are properly seated until the clips lock into place.
  4. Insert the M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs into their respective slots and secure them with the provided screws.
  5. Close the chassis securely.

3.2 Connecting Peripherals

Identify the various ports on your Mini PC:

  • Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC-in port.
  • Display: Connect your monitor(s) to the HDMI, DisplayPort (DP), or USB4 ports. The Mini PC supports up to four displays simultaneously.

3.3 Initial Power On

After connecting all necessary components and peripherals:

  1. Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC.
  2. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install your preferred operating system (not included) and drivers.

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the power button once.
  • To Power Off: Perform a graceful shutdown through your operating system. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for 5-7 seconds for a forced shutdown (use only when necessary to prevent data loss).

4.3 Network Connectivity

  • Wired Network: Connect an Ethernet cable to either of the 2.5G RJ45 ports for high-speed wired internet.
