- Electrode Collet: Keep the electrode collet clean and free of spatter to ensure proper rod insertion and electrical contact.
- Storage: Store the welder in its carry case in a dry, clean, and secure location when not in use.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Welder does not power on | No power supply; Power switch off; Faulty power cable. | Check power outlet; Ensure power switch is ON; Inspect and replace power cable if damaged. |
| No welding arc | Poor ground connection; Incorrect current setting; Wet or faulty electrode; Faulty trigger switch. | Ensure ground clamp has good contact; Adjust current setting; Use dry electrodes; Contact support if trigger is faulty. |
| Poor weld quality (e.g., excessive spatter, weak penetration) | Incorrect current setting; Improper arc length or travel speed; Unsuitable electrode type. | Adjust current (refer to electrode manufacturer's recommendations); Practice maintaining consistent arc and speed; Ensure correct electrode for material. |
| Welder overheats and shuts down | Exceeding duty cycle; Blocked cooling vents; High ambient temperature. | Allow welder to cool down; Clear cooling vents; Work in a cooler environment if possible. |
