5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Charging Function

Once the charger is connected to a power source, simply insert the 1.5V Li-ion AA or AAA batteries into the appropriate slots. The charger will automatically detect the batteries and begin the charging process.

5.2 Activation Function

The LC12 charger is equipped with a 0V activation function. It can automatically detect and activate low-voltage or over-discharged XTAR rechargeable 1.5V Li-ion batteries, restoring their vitality. This feature helps to refresh batteries that might otherwise seem unusable.

5.3 Charging Strategies (Toggle Switch)

The charger features a toggle switch to manually adjust the charging sequence, offering three distinct strategies:

• Left Position: The charger starts with the leftmost 4 slots and always charges 4 batteries from left-to-right.
• Center Position: This mode provides a slow charge for all 12 batteries. It rotates charging every 10 seconds, charging 4 batteries at a time.
• Right Position: The charger starts with the rightmost 4 slots and always charges 4 batteries from right-to-left.

5.4 LED Indicators

The LC12 charger is equipped with LED indicators for each slot to show the charging status:

• Red LED: Battery is Charging.
• Flickering Green LED: Battery is Charging or being Activated.
• Green LED: Battery is Fully Charged.
• Orange LED: Battery Identification or Waiting for Charging.
• Red Flickering LED: Battery Error or Incompatible Battery.

6. Maintenance

• Keep the charger and batteries clean and dry. Avoid exposure to humidity, water, and excessive dust.

• Charger Not Working / Slow Charging: Ensure the power adapter is 5V 2A or higher. Insufficient power can lead to reduced charging current or malfunction.
• Red Flickering LED: This indicates a battery error or that an incompatible battery has been inserted. Remove the battery and check for damage or ensure it is a compatible 1.5V Li-ion battery.
• Batteries Not Charging: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity. Check if the charger is properly connected to a power source.
• Over-Discharged Batteries: The 0V activation function should revive most over-discharged XTAR 1.5V Li-ion batteries. If a battery still doesn't charge after activation attempts, it might be permanently damaged.
