Setup and Assembly

1. Attaching the Battery

Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the tool and slide it in until it clicks into place. To remove, press the release button and slide the battery out.

2. Installing the Collet and Router Bit

  1. Ensure the tool is switched off and the battery is removed.
  2. Press and hold the shaft lock button.
  3. Loosen the collet nut using the provided wrench.
  4. Insert the desired router bit into the collet. The DRT50 accepts 6mm, 8mm, 1/4", and 3/8" collets.
  5. Tighten the collet nut firmly with the wrench while holding the shaft lock button. Do not overtighten.

3. Adjusting Cutting Depth

The cutting depth can be adjusted using the depth adjustment mechanism. Loosen the locking lever, adjust the base to the desired depth (0-40mm for trimmer base, 0-35mm for plunge base), and then securely tighten the locking lever.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

To turn the tool on, press the push button switch. To turn it off, press the switch again. The tool also features a lock/unlock button for continuous operation or to prevent accidental startup.

2. Adjusting Speed

The variable speed control dial allows you to select a no-load speed between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM. Adjust the speed according to the material and the type of bit being used. Lower speeds are generally for larger bits and harder materials, while higher speeds are for smaller bits and softer materials.

3. Trimming and Routing

  • Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
  • Start the tool before making contact with the workpiece.
  • Move the tool smoothly and consistently along the desired path.
  • Allow the tool's constant speed control to maintain optimal RPM during cutting.
  • The dual LED job lights will illuminate your work area for better precision.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • After each use, remove the battery pack.
  • Clean the tool's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Use compressed air to clear dust and debris from ventilation openings and the collet area.
  • Regularly empty the dust collection bag/system if one is attached.

2. Bit Care

  • Inspect router bits for sharpness and damage before each use. Dull or damaged bits can cause kickback and poor cutting performance.
  • Clean bits of resin and debris to maintain cutting efficiency.

3. Storage

When not in use, store the tool in a clean, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Ensure the battery is removed for long-term storage.
