5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Wiring Instructions

WARNING: Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before proceeding with wiring.

The AVATTO ZigBee Smart Touch Light Switch requires both Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires for operation. Connect the wires as indicated in the diagrams below.

Wiring Diagram: Connect Live Wire (Red) to 'L-in' and Neutral Wire (Blue) to 'N-in'. Connect individual light loads to 'L1 out', 'L2 out', 'L3 out', 'L4 out' as applicable for your switch gang configuration.

• N: Neutral wire

• L1, L2, L3, L4: Output channels for connecting to lights.

5.2 App Download and Registration

1. Download the "Smart Life" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in the original PDF manual.
2. Open the "Smart Life" app and register an account using your phone number or email address.

5.3 Pairing the ZigBee Smart Switch with the App

This switch requires a ZigBee gateway (hub) to connect to the Smart Life/Tuya app. Ensure your ZigBee gateway is already set up and connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi network.

5. Tap "Add subdevice" or a similar option to initiate the search for new ZigBee devices.
6. The ZigBee gateway will automatically search for the nearby smart switch.
7. Once discovered, follow the on-screen prompts in the app to complete the pairing process.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Manual Control

Simply touch the grooved buttons on the switch panel to turn the connected lights on or off.

6.2 App Remote Control

Once paired, you can control your lights from anywhere using the Smart Life/Tuya app on your smartphone.

• Open the Smart Life/Tuya app.
• Select your smart switch from the device list.
• Tap the respective switch icons (Switch 1, Switch 2, etc.) to turn individual lights on or off.
• Use the 'All On' or 'All Off' options for master control.

6.3 Voice Control

1. In the Smart Life/Tuya app, go to the switch settings and select "Alexa" or "Google Assistant" to link your account.

  The switch can act as a Zigbee signal repeater, enhancing communication between your gateway and other Zigbee devices like door sensors, smoke detectors, PIR sensors, water sensors, and gas sensors.

• 2-Way/Multi-Control Association: This feature allows a single light or group of lights to be controlled by two or more smart switches. Note that this function requires both switches to be connected to the network and configured within the app, it cannot be achieved through traditional wiring.

• Cannot pair the switch:
  • Make sure the switch is in pairing mode (green indicator rapidly blinking). If not, long-press any button for 5 seconds.
  • Confirm your ZigBee gateway is online and functioning correctly.
  • Ensure your phone's WiFi is 2.4GHz during the initial setup of the gateway.
  • Try moving the switch closer to the ZigBee gateway during pairing.
• Voice control not working:
  • Check if the Smart Life/Tuya app is correctly linked to your voice assistant (Alexa, Google Home).
  • Verify the device name in the app matches the name you are using in voice commands.
  • Ensure your voice assistant device is online and connected to the internet.
• Lights flicker or don't turn off completely:
  • This can sometimes happen with low-wattage LED bulbs. Consider using a bypass module (not included) if flickering persists.

9. User Tips

• Consistent Naming: Use simple and consistent names for your devices in the Smart Life/Tuya app to make voice control easier and more intuitive.
• Group Control: For multiple lights in one room, create a group in the app to control them all with a single command or tap.
• Automations/Scenes: Explore the automation features in the Smart Life/Tuya app to create scenes (e.g., "Good Morning" to turn on lights gradually) or set up routines based on time, weather, or other smart devices.
• ZigBee Network Health: Since this is a ZigBee device, ensure your ZigBee network has good coverage. Adding more powered ZigBee devices (like other smart switches) can help strengthen the mesh network.
