4.3. Installation Precautions

  • Ensure there are no obstructions such as trees, buildings, or power lines around the sensor during installation. Any obstruction may interfere with accurate rainfall detection.
  • Position the sensing surface of the device facing the direction of rainfall to ensure proper exposure to raindrops.
  • When using the ground stake installation, avoid soft or loose soil. Make sure the stake is inserted deep enough to prevent the device from tipping over due to wind or external force.
  • When using the device, do not touch the detection board to avoid triggering false alarms.
  • When installing the sensor, pay special attention to the mounting angle. Ensure that the rain sensing plate is facing upward toward the sky. Do not install the device upside down, as this may prevent the sensor from accurately detecting rainfall.

8. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q1: Can the rain sensor operate in extreme weather conditions?
A1: Yes. This product is designed to function reliably under various weather conditions, including most types of rainfall and temperature fluctuations within its specified operating range (-10~60°C).
Q2: What should I do if the sensor does not respond correctly or gives inaccurate data during rain?
A2: Make sure the sensor is not covered by any obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) as this may affect detection accuracy. Also, check that the sensor is installed correctly and remains level, with the sensing plate facing upward.
Q3: How long does the battery last?
A3: Battery life may vary depending on usage and environmental factors. Under normal conditions, the battery can last for approximately 6 months. Actual life depends on rainfall frequency and the sensor's working mode. A low battery alert will be triggered when replacement is needed.
