5. Operating Instructions

5.1. General Operation

  • The "HOLD" function retains the current reading on the display. It is invalid if there is no input and recovers when input is present. Long pressing the HOLD/NCV button can activate the NCV function.
  • The meter features an automatic power-off function. After approximately 10 minutes of inactivity, the meter will emit an audible prompt and then power off automatically. To disable this, press the power button and the "°C/°F" button simultaneously when turning on the device.

5.2. Backlight and Flashlight Function

The meter has a backlight and flashlight for convenient reading in dark environments:

  1. Short press the backlight/illumination key to turn on the backlight. Short press again to turn it off. It will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of no operation.
  2. Long press the backlight/illumination key to turn on both the flashlight and backlight simultaneously. Short press again to turn off the illumination. It will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of no operation.
  3. If the backlight is already on, pressing the key for 2 seconds can also activate the flashlight. Both will turn off after 30 seconds of no operation.

5.3. ACV/DCV/Resistance/Buzzer Measurement

  1. Connect the black test pen to the COM jack and the red test pen to the V/Ω jack.
  2. Turn on the meter by pressing the power key.
  3. Connect the test leads to the circuit under test. The meter will automatically detect and measure ACV, DCV, continuity, or resistance.
  4. If the circuit resistance is not greater than approximately 50 ohms, the indicator light will turn on, and the buzzer will sound continuously (for continuity test).
  5. When measuring DCV, the screen will show the polarity of the red test pen and the surrounding temperature.
  6. When measuring ACV, the screen can display the frequency of the ACV.

5.4. Diode Measurement

Press the "Diode/Capacitance/Temperature" button until the diode symbol (▶|) is shown on the display. This indicates the meter is in diode measurement mode. Place the red test pen into the V/Ω socket. The forward voltage drop of the diode will be displayed directly on the LCD screen.

5.5. Capacitance Measurement

Press the "Diode/Capacitance/Temperature" button until "C" is shown on the display. This indicates the meter is in capacitance measurement mode. Place the red test pen into the V/Ω socket. The capacitance reading will be displayed directly on the LCD screen.

  • Note: Measuring large capacitance values may take some time.
  • Ensure correct polarity when measuring polarized capacitors to avoid damaging the meter.

5.6. Temperature Measurement

Press the "Diode/Capacitance/Temperature" button until "°C" or "°F" is shown on the display. This indicates the meter is in temperature measurement mode. Insert the temperature probe into the V/Ω and COM sockets. The temperature reading will be displayed. Press the button again to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
