- Cable Inspection: Periodically check all cables for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure they are securely fastened and not exposed to excessive heat or sharp edges.
- Camera Lens: Keep the camera lens free from dirt, mud, snow, or ice to ensure a clear view. The IP68 rating ensures protection against dust and water immersion, but regular cleaning is still recommended.
- Storage: If the system is not in use for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Image on Monitor:
- Ensure all power and video cables are securely connected.
- Check if the cigarette lighter socket is providing power (test with another device).
- Verify the monitor is powered on.
- Poor Image Quality:
- Clean the camera lens.
- Check for any obstructions blocking the camera's view.
- Adjust the monitor's brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue settings.
- Ensure the camera is securely mounted and not vibrating.
- Parking Lines Incorrect:
- Access the 'Customised reversing line' settings in the menu and adjust H, V, and W parameters to align with your vehicle.
- Ensure the camera is mounted centrally and level.
- Monitor Not Turning On/Off with Ignition:
- Confirm the cigarette lighter socket is controlled by the ignition. Some vehicles have always-on sockets.
- Check the power cable connection.
9. User Tips
- Pre-Installation Test: Before permanently mounting, connect the system temporarily to ensure all components are working correctly and to familiarize yourself with the display and camera view.
- Cable Management: Use cable ties or clips to neatly secure all wiring, preventing tangles and ensuring they do not interfere with pedals or other vehicle controls.
- Optimal Camera Placement: Experiment with different camera mounting positions (if possible) to find the best angle that minimizes blind spots and provides the most useful view for your specific vehicle.
- Regular Cleaning: Due to its exterior placement, the camera lens can get dirty quickly. A quick wipe before driving can significantly improve image clarity.
