5. Assembly and Initial Setup

Your HiQiS V8 E-scooter comes partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the setup:

  1. Unpack the Scooter: Carefully remove the scooter and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Unfold the Scooter: Locate the folding mechanism on the stem. Release the latch and lift the handlebar stem until it locks securely into place. Ensure it clicks firmly.
  3. Attach Handlebars: Insert the handlebar assembly into the stem. Ensure the cables are not pinched. Tighten any screws or clamps as per the instructions provided in the box to secure the handlebars.
  4. Initial Charge: Before your first ride, fully charge the scooter's battery. Connect the charger to the charging port and then to a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will change (e.g., from red to green) when fully charged. This typically takes 4-5 hours.
  5. Tire Check: Inspect the honeycomb tires for any visible damage. While honeycomb tires do not require inflation, ensure they are free from debris.
  6. Brake Check: Test the drum brake by squeezing the brake lever. Ensure it engages smoothly and effectively.
  7. Power On: Long press the power button on the display to turn on the scooter.
  8. App Connection (Optional): Download the official HiQiS app (if available) from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your scooter via Bluetooth for additional features and settings.

6. Operation

6.1 Basic Controls

  • Power On/Off: Long press the power button on the display.
  • Shift Gears (Speed Modes): Press the power button once to cycle through the 3-speed gears (Eco, Slow, Sport).
  • Headlight On/Off: Press the power button twice to turn the headlight on or off.
  • Start Mode (0-start/Non-0-start): Press the power button five times to switch between 0-start (requires a kick-off) and non-0-start (starts directly with throttle).

6.2 Riding Modes

The HiQiS V8 offers three distinct riding modes:

  • Eco Mode (9 MPH): Energy-efficient mode for longer range and relaxed cruising.
  • Slow Mode (12 MPH): Balanced mode for moderate speed and range.
  • Sport Mode (19 MPH): Maximum speed mode for dynamic riding.

6.3 Braking

To brake, gently squeeze the drum brake lever on the handlebar. Apply pressure gradually to avoid sudden stops. For emergency stops, apply firm pressure to the brake lever.
