5. Installation

This car radio is designed for a "PLUG AND PLAY" installation, but professional installation is recommended. Ensure your vehicle's dashboard is compatible before proceeding.

5.1 Compatibility Check

Verify your vehicle's dashboard configuration matches the "Can Install" type shown below. If your dashboard resembles the "Cannot Install" type, additional modifications or adapters may be required.

5.2 Wiring Diagram

Refer to the following diagram for connecting the various cables to the car radio unit. Ensure all connections are secure.

5.3 Cooling Fan Installation

The unit is equipped with a powerful cooling fan to ensure stable operation, especially during long-term use or in high-temperature environments. Ensure the cooling fan is properly installed as shown in the diagram.

6. Basic Operation

6.1 Gesture Recognition

The device supports various touch gestures for intuitive control:

  • **Short-press:** Activates functions or selects items.
  • **Long-press:** Accesses contextual menus or initiates draggable states (e.g., for app shortcuts).
  • **Drag:** Moves icons or adjusts sliders.
  • **Slide:** Navigates between screens or lists.

6.2 Main Interface and Application Interface

Upon startup, the device defaults to the main menu, displaying shortcuts to frequently used functions. You can customize this layout. Swipe left or right to switch between multiple interfaces. Tap the Home icon to return to the main interface from any other screen. Tap the Applications icon to view all installed applications.

6.3 Wallpaper Replacement

You can change the wallpaper in two ways:

  1. Long-press on a blank space on the main interface to bring up wallpaper settings.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Devices > Display > Wallpaper to choose from available wallpapers or live wallpapers.

6.4 Managing Application Shortcuts

  • **Add Shortcut:** From the application interface, long-press an app icon. The device will switch to the main menu, allowing you to drag and place the icon.
  • **Delete Shortcut:** Long-press an app icon or widget on the main menu. A delete button will appear. Drag the icon to the delete button (which turns red) and release.

6.5 Boot LOGO Settings

You can customize the boot logo:

  1. Go to Settings > Factory > Boot screen Logo to select a predefined car logo.
  2. For custom logos, ensure the image resolution is at least 1024x600. Create a folder named "mycar" in the root directory of an SD card or USB disk. Place your custom image in this folder. Insert the SD card/USB disk into the machine, then go to Car Icon setting and slide to the last page to display your custom logo.

6.6 Navigation Function

Tap the Navigation icon on the main interface to access the map interface. Enter your destination to begin navigation. The unit supports both online and offline positioning with various compatible software.

6.7 Bluetooth Function (BT 5.0)

Tap the Bluetooth icon on the main interface to enter the Bluetooth menu. The device supports Bluetooth 5.0 for stable and high-quality connections.

  • **Bluetooth Call Record:** Tap the call record icon to view incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. Records are arranged by time and can be deleted.
  • **Bluetooth Phone:** To use the phone function, connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
    1. Enable Bluetooth on both your phone and the car unit, making your phone "visible to everyone".
    2. Search for the car unit on your phone, select it, and enter the pairing password (usually 0000).
    3. Once connected, you can make and receive calls hands-free.
  • **Bluetooth Sync Phone Address Book:** Tap the sync icon to download your phone's address book. Your phone will prompt you to allow access.
  • **Bluetooth Music:** Tap the music icon to play audio from your phone via Bluetooth. You can control playback (next/previous song) from the unit.
  • **Bluetooth Device Search:** Tap the search icon to find nearby Bluetooth devices. Select a device and connect. You can also disconnect or clear devices from this interface.
  • **Bluetooth Settings:** This page displays the car's Bluetooth name and pairing password, which can be changed. Auto-answering for calls can be enabled. A reset button restores factory settings.

6.8 Video Playback

Tap the Video icon on the main interface to enter the video playback interface. The player supports various formats (3gp, mp4, m4v, flv, f4v, mkv, webm, avi) and offers high-definition playback.

  • **Video List:** View videos from internal or external storage.
  • **Picture-in-Picture:** Tap the picture-in-picture button during playback to minimize the video and overlay it on other applications. You can adjust its size and position.

6.9 Equalizer (DSP Super EQ)

Enter the equalizer interface to adjust sound effects. You can select preset sound modes (Classic, Pop, Studio, Concert) or manually adjust the 31-band EQ, field, surround, bass enhancement, and bass filter settings to customize your audio experience.

6.10 Radio Function (FM/AM/RDS)

Access the radio interface to tune into FM/AM stations and utilize RDS features.

  • **Band Switch:** Toggle between FM1, FM2, FM3, etc.
  • **Range:** Switch between long and short range reception.
  • **Search:** Automatically scan for available radio stations across all bands.
  • **Save Station:** Long-press a P1-P6 button to save the current frequency, or use the save button after adjusting the frequency.
  • **Radio Settings:** Adjust FM sensitivity and change the area for reception.

6.11 Steering Wheel Learning

If your vehicle has steering wheel buttons, you can customize their functions:

  1. Press and hold the button on the steering wheel you wish to program.
  2. On the unit's screen, select the corresponding function button. Release the steering wheel button when a valid number (resistance value) appears.
  3. Repeat for other buttons. Click the save button after learning. Each steering wheel button can only learn one function.

6.12 Touchscreen Assistant

The touchscreen assistant provides a floating button with shortcuts for quick function jumps.

  • **Show Button:** Access the touchscreen assistant settings to enable the floating button.
  • **Boot Option:** Configure the floating button to appear automatically on startup.
  • **Button Size Adjustment:** Customize the size of the floating button to your preference.

6.13 Music Player

The music player accesses audio files from internal and external storage.

  • **Playlists:** View songs by song list, folder, artist, or album.
  • **Play Interface:** Displays song information and playback controls. Drag the progress bar for fast forward/rewind.

6.14 File Management & Picture Preview

7.3 ADAS Dashcam & Wide-Angle Lens

7.4 Split Screen Functionality

7.6 Immersive Sound Quality

8. Settings

Access the settings menu by tapping the Settings icon on the main interface.

8.1 WiFi Settings

Navigate to Wi-Fi to manage network connections. Turn on Wi-Fi to view available networks and connect. You can also check data usage, enable data saving, view SIM info, and configure mobile network settings, portable hotspot, flight mode, and VPN under More.

8.2 Device Settings

  • **Display:** Adjust screen brightness, wallpaper, and automatic black screen functions.
  • **Sound:** Configure sound output effects, LOUDness, power amplifier switch, bass, and equalizer settings.
  • **GPS:** View GPS positioning information and manage automatic synchronization of time with positioning satellites.
  • **Storage:** Check internal and external storage usage.
  • **Apps:** View application storage usage, uninstall, or stop installed programs.

8.3 General Settings

Configure basic attributes of the machine, such as:

  • **Press any key to start:** Enable screen wake-up with any touch.
  • **Brake wire for video in motion:** Controls video display based on handbrake status.
  • **OSD time:** Display time on the image screen.
  • **Mirror view on Reverse image:** Reversing image displayed in mirror mode.
  • **Mute audio when Reversing:** Mutes other audio during reversing.
  • **Sound reduction when reversing:** Controls background sound level during reversing.
  • **Backlight brightness control:** Time-based or small light control.
  • **Default volume switch/Power-on default volume:** Sets default volume levels.
  • **GPS mixing:** Controls background sound output during navigation reports.

9. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

9.1 Bluetooth Connection Issues

  • **Cannot pair/connect Bluetooth:** If connection fails, turn off and on your phone's Bluetooth, then search and connect again. If issues persist, reset Bluetooth settings on the car unit.
  • **No sound from Bluetooth music:** Ensure your paired mobile phone has its volume turned up.
  • **No response when downloading phone book:** After Bluetooth connection, your mobile phone should receive a request to download contacts. Confirm and allow the download.
  • **Bluetooth name not updated:** If the Bluetooth name doesn't update immediately after setting, disconnect and re-pair the Bluetooth connection.

9.2 Media Playback Issues

  • **No data update when plugging in SD card/USB:** The music player scans for data. If the data is large, it may take 1-2 minutes to update. If it still doesn't update, ensure the storage device is properly mounted. Check the file browser for the storage directory; if missing, re-plug the card/USB or check hardware.
  • **Song file name shows garbled code:** This occurs if the song's encoding is not a common format or doesn't match the local language settings.

9.3 Hidden Configuration Menu Code

The code for the hidden configuration menu is typically 0000 (zero zero zero zero).
