1. Introduction
The ANENG Digital Inclinometer is a versatile and precise tool designed for accurate angle, level, and slope measurements. Available in three models (RN01, RN02, RN03), it caters to various needs in woodworking, construction, vehicle maintenance, and other industrial applications. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your device to ensure optimal performance.
2. Model Differences
The ANENG Digital Inclinometer series offers three distinct models with varying features:
- RN01: Powered by 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries (not included).
- RN02: Features USB-C charging and a built-in Lithium-ion battery.
- RN03: Includes a red laser for enhanced guidance, USB-C charging, and a built-in Lithium-ion battery.
Please refer to the specifications table for a detailed comparison of functional parameters.
3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation (RN01 Only)
For the RN01 model, install 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment located on the back of the device. Ensure correct polarity.
3.2. Charging (RN02/RN03 Only)
For RN02 and RN03 models, use the provided Type-C data cable to connect the device to a DC 5V output adapter for charging. A bright red light indicates charging, and the light will extinguish when fully charged.

3.3. Initial Calibration
To ensure accurate measurements, it is recommended to calibrate the inclinometer before first use or if you suspect inaccuracies due to impact or temperature changes. Follow these steps:
- Turn on the instrument. Place it on a flat, stable surface.
- Long press the Power button and H/% key simultaneously until 'CAL1' appears and the device beeps.
- Rotate the instrument 90 degrees and lay it flat. Press the H/% key. 'CAL2' will appear and the device will beep.
- Rotate the instrument 180 degrees and lay it flat. Press the H/% key. 'CAL3' will appear and the device will beep.
- Lay the back of the meter up flat (ensure the buttons are not pressed). Press the H/% key. 'CAL4' will appear and the device will beep.
- Flip the instrument over (head up). Press the H/% key. 'CAL5' will appear and the device will beep.
- Lay the back of the meter up flat again. Press the H/% key. 'CAL6' will appear and the device will beep.
- Wait until 'Err' appears on the screen, then press the H/% key. After about 3 seconds, the instrument calibration is complete, and it will enter normal measurement mode.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Device Overview and Button Functions

- Charging Port: (1) USB-C port for RN02/RN03.
- LCD Backlit Display: (2) Clear display for readings, visible in low light.
- Power Switch: (3) Long press to power on/off.
- Laser Level Switch: (3) Short press to activate/deactivate the horizontal laser (RN03 only).
- Lock/Slope Key (H/%): (4) Single press to toggle between angle and slope percentage display. Long press for data retention (HOLD function).
- ZERO Key: (5) Short press to set the current position as the relative zero point. Long press to return to absolute zero.
- Horizontal Laser Output Port: (6) Emits the laser line (RN03 only).
4.2. Basic Angle Measurement
Place the inclinometer on the surface you wish to measure. The digital display will show the angle relative to gravity (absolute mode) or a set zero point (relative mode).

4.3. Automatic Screen Flip
The display automatically flips when the instrument is inverted, ensuring easy readability from any orientation.

4.4. Display Unit Toggle (H/%)
Press the H/% key to switch between displaying the angle in degrees (°) and slope in percentage (%).
4.5. Data Retention (HOLD)
Long press the H/% key to hold the current measurement value on the screen. This is useful for recording readings in difficult-to-view positions. Long press again to release.
4.6. Absolute Measurement Mode
In absolute mode, the inclinometer measures the angle relative to a true horizontal plane. This is the default mode after power-on or after a long press of the ZERO key.
4.7. Relative Measurement Mode
To measure the angle between two surfaces, use the relative measurement mode:
- Place the inclinometer on the first surface.
- Short press the ZERO key to set this position as the new zero reference.
- Move the inclinometer to the second surface. The display will now show the angle difference between the two surfaces.

4.8. Horizontal Laser Marking (RN03 Only)
For the RN03 model, short press the Power button to activate the horizontal laser. This projects a red laser line, useful for alignment and marking over distances.

4.9. Automatic Power Off
The instrument will automatically shut down after approximately 12 minutes of no operation to conserve battery life.
5. Applications
The ANENG Digital Inclinometer is suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Woodworking: Setting angles for saws, checking joint accuracy.
- Construction: Measuring stair slopes, roof pitches, and general leveling.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Detecting tilt angles for wheel alignment.
- Industrial Use: Precision instrument research, machine setup, and maintenance.
- DIY Projects: Ensuring level surfaces for cabinets, shelves, and other installations.

6. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Store the inclinometer in a protective case when not in use to prevent damage.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or high humidity.
- If the RN01 model is not used for an extended period, remove the AAA batteries to prevent leakage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings: Perform a calibration as described in Section 3.3. Ensure the measurement surface is stable and free from vibrations.
- Display Not Working: Check batteries (RN01) or charge the device (RN02/RN03). Ensure the device is powered on.
- 'Err' Message: This message typically appears during calibration. If it persists outside of calibration, repeat the calibration process carefully.
