7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the cage. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Silicone Pads: Periodically check the silicone pads for wear or damage. Ensure they are clean and free of debris to maintain optimal grip and protection for your camera.
  • Screws and Threads: Regularly inspect all screws and mounting threads for tightness. Use the provided Allen key to re-tighten any loose connections. Keep threads clean to ensure smooth accessory attachment.
  • Cooling Fan: Ensure the cooling fan vents are free from dust and obstructions. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently clean the fan area if necessary.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera cage in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Camera feels loose in the cage. Main mounting screw is not tight enough. Use the included Allen key to tighten the main mounting screw at the bottom of the cage.
Accessories are not securely attaching to threads. Threads are dirty or damaged. Clean threads with a soft brush. If damaged, avoid using and contact support.
Cooling fan is not turning on. No power or incorrect power source. Ensure an external power source is connected to the USB-C PD-IN port and provides at least 30W. Check the fan switch is in ON or BOOST position.
Cables are still coming loose. Cable clamp not properly secured or tightened. Ensure the cable clamp is correctly positioned and its thumbscrews are tightened around the cables.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal cooling performance, especially during long shoots or in warm environments, always use the BOOST setting on the cooling fan.
  • When attaching heavy accessories, ensure they are balanced to prevent strain on the camera and cage. Utilize multiple mounting points where possible.
  • The quick-release magnetic tool is conveniently stored within the cage for easy access during adjustments or disassembly.
  • Consider using the PD-OUT feature to power your camera directly from the cooling system's power source to reduce cable clutter.
