4. Features
- Infinity Mirror ARGB Lighting: Experience stunning, layered lighting effects with a meticulously designed infinity frame structure. A slender, fractured-style LED light strip runs along the inner edges of the fan frame, positioned between the fan blades.
- Reverse Blade Design (Specific Models): M12QR models feature blades that rotate counter-clockwise, with the fan blade surface facing the air outlet, optimized for rear exhaust configurations.
- Wireless Patchwork Magic Interface: Simplifies installation by allowing fans to transmit signals and power between each other via direct contacts, reducing cable clutter.
- PWM Control: 4-PIN PWM interface allows for precise fan speed control (0-1500 RPM) to balance cooling performance and noise levels.
- Quiet Operation: Engineered for low noise output, with a maximum noise level of ≤23.2 dBA.
- S-FDB Magnetic Stability Bearing: Utilizes high-precision Fluid Dynamic Bearings with a sealed design for long-lasting durability, maintenance-free operation, and reduced fan blade vibration.
- Durable Construction: Made from UL-class safety insulation level industrial-grade PBT+PC material for enhanced strength and safety.
- Shock Absorption: Double-sided four-corner silicone corner pads provide effective shock absorption, minimizing vibration and noise.

5. Installation and Setup
Follow these steps to install your Thermalright TL-M12QRW X2 series fans:
- Prepare Your System: Ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Open your computer case to access the fan mounting locations.
- Mounting the Fans:
- Position the fan(s) in your desired location (e.g., case fan mounts, radiator).
- Secure the fan(s) using the provided screws. The double-sided silicone corner pads will help absorb vibrations.
- Connecting Multiple Fans (Daisy Chain):
- For multiple fans, utilize the wireless patchwork magic interface. Align the connectors on the side of each fan and gently push them together until they click into place. This transmits both power and ARGB signals between fans.
Figure 7: Wireless Patchwork Connector
- Wiring Connections:
- PWM Fan Power Supply Interface (4-PIN): Connect the 4-PIN PWM cable from the fan (or the last fan in a daisy chain) to an available 4-PIN fan header on your motherboard. This allows for fan speed control.
- ARGB Fan Light Interface (+5V 3-PIN): Connect the +5V 3-PIN ARGB cable from the fan (or the last fan in a daisy chain) to a compatible +5V 3-PIN ARGB header on your motherboard. This enables ARGB lighting control and synchronization.
Important Note: The wire of the control line needs to be connected to the side with pins of the fan. Please pay attention to connect in series or directly insert into the corresponding ARGB lighting effect interface of the motherboard. The two modes (PWM and ARGB) cannot be used together on the same header if they are separate. For motherboard ARGB synchronization, a single motherboard interface typically has an upper limit, often supporting no more than 6 devices. Refer to your motherboard's manual for specific ARGB header limitations.

After all connections are made, close your computer case and power on your system.
6. Operation
- Fan Speed Control (PWM): The fan speed can be controlled via your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or through compatible software provided by your motherboard manufacturer. Ensure the 4-PIN PWM cable is correctly connected to a PWM-enabled fan header.
- ARGB Lighting Control: The ARGB lighting effects can be controlled using your motherboard's ARGB synchronization software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync). Ensure the +5V 3-PIN ARGB cable is correctly connected to a compatible ARGB header.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and frame to remove dust buildup. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Ensure the fan is powered off before cleaning.
- Lubrication: The S-FDB bearing is designed for maintenance-free operation and does not require lubrication.
- Disassembly Warning: Do not attempt to disassemble the fan. Self-disassembly may void the product warranty.

8. Troubleshooting
- Fan Not Spinning:
- Check if the 4-PIN PWM cable is securely connected to the motherboard fan header.
- Ensure the fan header is enabled in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Verify that your power supply is providing adequate power.
- ARGB Lighting Not Working/Incorrect Colors:
- Confirm the +5V 3-PIN ARGB cable is correctly connected to a compatible +5V 3-PIN ARGB header on your motherboard (not a 12V 4-PIN RGB header).
- Check your motherboard's ARGB software for correct settings and effects.
- If daisy-chaining, ensure all connections between fans are secure and the main ARGB cable is connected to the motherboard.
- Remember the motherboard ARGB header limit (typically max 6 devices).
- Excessive Noise/Vibration:
- Ensure the fan is securely mounted and screws are tightened.
- Check for any cables or obstructions touching the fan blades.
- The silicone corner pads are designed to reduce vibration; ensure they are properly seated.
- The S-FDB bearing is designed to minimize vibration. If noise persists, contact support.
9. User Tips
- Cable Management: Take advantage of the wireless patchwork design to minimize cable clutter within your PC case. Plan your fan layout to utilize this feature effectively.
- Airflow Direction: Pay attention to the airflow direction, especially if using reverse blade fans. Reverse blade fans are ideal for intake on radiators or specific case positions where you want the aesthetic side facing outwards while still pulling air in. Standard fans typically push air out from the aesthetic side.
- ARGB Customization: Experiment with your motherboard's ARGB software to create unique lighting patterns and synchronize them with other components for a cohesive look.
