2. Product Components

3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove the coffee machine from its packaging.
  2. Remove all protective materials and stickers.
  3. Place the machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface.

3.2 Water Tank Installation

  1. Locate the 2.5L detachable water tank at the back of the machine.
  2. Remove the water tank using the handle.
  3. Fill the tank with fresh, cold, filtered water up to the MAX line.
  4. Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is securely seated.

3.3 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the machine's voltage (220V-240V) matches your local power supply.
  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Turn on the main power switch, usually located on the side or back of the machine.

3.4 Initial Priming (First Use)

Before first use, or if the machine has been unused for a long time, it needs to be primed to fill the internal system with water.

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Place a cup under the hot water pipe.
  3. Turn the hot water rotary knob to dispense hot water until a steady stream flows. This purges air from the system.
  4. Repeat for the steam wand by turning the steam rotary knob briefly.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Brewing Espresso

  1. Ensure the machine is preheated to the desired brewing temperature (monitor on the control display).
  2. Grind fresh coffee beans to an espresso-fine consistency.
  3. Fill the porta filter with the ground coffee and tamp evenly.
  4. Lock the porta filter into the group head.
  5. Place your espresso cup(s) on the cup stand.
  6. Press the desired brewing button. The PID system allows for adjustable brewing time.
  7. Monitor the pressure gauge during extraction; ideal pressure is typically between 9-12 bar.
  8. Once the desired volume is reached, press the button again to stop brewing.

4.2 Frothing Milk

The G3145 features a presettable milk foam temperature and an NTC probe for precise control.

  1. Fill a stainless steel milk pitcher with cold milk (do not fill more than halfway).
  2. Position the steam pipe into the milk, just below the surface.
  3. Turn the steam rotary knob to activate the steam.
  4. Monitor the milk temperature on the control display or using a separate thermometer. The machine allows presetting the desired milk foam temperature.
  5. Once the desired temperature and texture are achieved, turn off the steam knob.
  6. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

4.3 Hot Water Dispensing

  1. Place a cup under the hot water pipe.
  2. Turn the hot water rotary knob to dispense hot water.
  3. Turn the knob back to stop the flow.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your coffee machine.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray and drain box daily. The G3145 features a defrosting tray for easy cleaning.
  • Porta Filter: After each use, remove the porta filter, discard the coffee grounds, and rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue from inside.
  • Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
  • Exterior: Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.

5.2 Descaling

Depending on water hardness and usage, descaling should be performed every 1-3 months to remove mineral buildup. Refer to the descaling solution manufacturer's instructions for proper dilution and procedure. Always rinse the machine thoroughly after descaling.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Gemilai G3145, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Important Note: The machine must use ground coffee powder and is only for making coffee, possibly coffee drinks, heating milk and tea. Other non-standard use may cause the machine to malfunction.
