1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your YRHAND Z31 Smart Lock. This advanced digital security device offers multiple unlocking methods including 3D face recognition, palm vein recognition, fingerprint, password, IC card, mechanical key, and remote control via the TTLOCK APP. Please read this manual carefully before installation and use to ensure proper functionality and security.

3.1 Front Panel Components:

5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is key to the smart lock's performance and security. Follow these steps carefully.

5.1 Door Measurement

Before installation, accurately measure your door's thickness, the length of the guide sheet, and the width of the guide sheet to ensure compatibility and proper fit.

5.2 Mortise Selection

Choose the correct mortise type for your door. The YRHAND Z31 supports 6068 anti-theft mortises, including 24x240 Square Mortise and 30x240 Cylindrical Mortise.

5.3 Wall Mounting (for Keybox)

The keybox can be mounted on a wall at a suitable height from the ground.

5.3.1 Wall Mount (Brick Wall)

  1. Step 1: Poke out hole plug. Locate the plug on the keybox and remove it.
  2. Step 2: Use key box as template. Place the keybox against the wall at the desired height and mark the drilling points.
  3. Step 3: Drill hole. Use a percussion bit to drill holes with a depth of D6x40mm at the marked points.
  4. Step 4: Install expansion plug. Insert the expansion plugs into the drilled holes.
  5. Step 5: Tighten screw. Secure the keybox to the wall using the provided screws.

5.3.2 Wall Mount (Plank)

  1. Step 1: Poke out hole plug. Locate the plug on the keybox and remove it.
  2. Step 2: Use key box as template. Place the keybox against the plank at the desired height and mark the drilling points.
  3. Step 3: Pilot drill. Use a twist drill to drill holes with a depth of D2x40mm at the marked points.
  4. Step 4: Tighten screw. Secure the keybox to the plank using the provided screws.

5.4 Install Batteries

Insert 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries into the battery box, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Then, tighten the battery box cover.

5.5 Function Test

After battery installation, turn over the protection cover. Press the fingerprint sensor or enter a passcode to unlock the key box and verify functionality.

5.6 Key Test

Test the mechanical key to ensure it can properly unlock the device. Do not store the mechanical keys inside the key box.

5.7 Hanging Garment (Knob)

  1. Unplug: If applicable, unplug any temporary connections.
  2. Battery Mounting: Ensure 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries are correctly installed and the battery box cover is fixed.
  3. Shackle Locking: Buckle the shackle and lock box in the direction indicated by the arrow.
  4. Shackle Unlock: Push the button to the top, then detach the lock box and shackle.

6. Operating Instructions

This section details how to operate your YRHAND Z31 Smart Lock, including APP setup and various unlocking methods.

6.1 TTLOCK APP Setup

The TTLOCK APP is essential for managing your smart lock's features.

6.1.1 Download and Register

Download the TTLOCK APP from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can also scan the QR codes below:

Register an account using your email or mobile number. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your password, ensuring it meets the security requirements (8-20 characters, including numbers, letters, and symbols).

6.1.2 Configure the Lock

Once registered, open the TTLOCK APP and click "Add LOCK" from the system settings. Follow the steps to connect your smart lock to the APP.

6.1.3 Function Description

Within the lock settings in the APP, you can access various features such as eKeys, IC card management, fingerprint management, remote unlock, and view operation records. Customize settings according to your daily requirements.

6.2 Unlocking Methods

The YRHAND Z31 Smart Lock offers multiple convenient and secure ways to unlock your door.

6.2.1 APP Unlock

You can remotely unlock your door using the TTLOCK APP. This feature also allows for real-time video intercom with visitors.

6.2.2 3D Face Recognition

The lock uses a 3D encryption algorithm for quick and accurate identification of multi-dimensional facial features. The recognition error rate is less than 0.001%.

6.2.3 Palm Vein Recognition

Utilizes near-infrared imaging technology to identify subcutaneous vein patterns, providing a safe and touchless unlocking method.

6.2.4 Fingerprint Unlock

The semiconductor fingerprint sensor offers high recognition sensitivity, allowing for unlocking in less than 0.5 seconds with a false recognition rate of less than 0.001%.

6.2.5 Password Unlock (including Virtual Password)

Enter your password on the touch keypad. The lock supports virtual passwords, allowing you to enter random numbers before and after your actual password to prevent peeping.

6.2.6 Temporary Password

Generate one-time passwords through the APP for temporary access by friends, family, or service providers.

6.2.7 IC Card Unlock

Present a registered IC card to the card reader area on the lock to unlock.

6.2.8 Mechanical Key Unlock

In case of emergency or power failure, use the physical mechanical key to unlock the door via the keyhole.

6.3 Remote Unlock Function (with Gateway)

To enable remote unlocking, a Wi-Fi gateway (Model G2) is required. The gateway connects your lock to your home Wi-Fi network, allowing you to control it from anywhere via the TTLOCK APP.

6.3.1 Gateway Parameters

6.3.2 Pair the Gateway with APP

  1. Activate the TTLOCK App on your mobile device.
  2. Press the menu button (=) in the app.
  3. Select "Gateway" from the options.
  4. Select your specific Gateway model (e.g., G2).
  5. Plug in the gateway and power it on. When the light flashes alternately with red and blue, proceed.
  6. Press the "+" button in the app to add the gateway.
  7. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  8. Finish the pairing process.

Note: If pairing times out, power cycle the gateway and try again.

6.3.3 Remote Unlock via APP

In the lock settings within the TTLOCK APP, ensure the remote unlock function is turned on. You can then click the unlock icon in the app to remotely unlock your door.

6.4 Passage Mode

The Passage Mode feature allows the lock to remain in an unlocked state for a specified period. This can be configured in the TTLOCK APP settings. You can set specific days and times for this mode to be active.

6.5 Operation Records

The APP allows you to query operation records, providing a 24/7 log of entry and exit events.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your smart lock.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the lock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Battery Replacement: The lock is powered by a 4200mAh rechargeable lithium battery. When the battery level drops below 20%, the lock will provide a low battery reminder. Recharge the battery using the Type-C USB port or replace it if necessary. Always use the recommended 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries for emergency power supply.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the TTLOCK APP for available firmware updates to ensure your lock has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Sensor Care: Keep the fingerprint sensor, face recognition area, and palm vein recognition area clean and free from dust or smudges for accurate readings.

8. Troubleshooting and FAQ

This section addresses common issues and questions you might encounter with your YRHAND Z31 Smart Lock.

8.1 Common Questions

  1. Can I unlock the door with my fingerprint at first time?

    Yes, after installation and powering on the lock with 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries, you can press any fingerprint to unlock the door. This allows access before configuring the lock with the mobile APP.

  2. What kind of battery shall we use?

    The lock is highly recommended to be powered by a 4200mAh rechargeable lithium battery. For emergency power, use 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries. Do not use other types of batteries (e.g., Zn/Mn batteries).

  3. Is the lock auto locked?

    After you unlock the door once, the door will automatically re-lock after 5 seconds, closing the "Front-panel" to lock.

  4. I bought one lock for my friend, how can he add the lock with his mobile?

    You need to remove the device from your mobile App first. You can click the "Delete" option in the app to reset the lock, or perform a hardware reset as described in the "Reset to Factory State" section.

  5. I insert the manual key and turn but I cannot unlock the door.

    Ensure the manual key is fully inserted and turned clockwise. Then, pull to open the shell to unlock. Refer to the diagram below for visual guidance.

  6. Is it possible to remotely unlock my door?

    Yes, but an additional Wi-Fi gateway is required for remote unlock functionality. After configuring the gateway, you can press the unlock icon in the TTLOCK app to remotely unlock your door. Refer to the "Remote Unlock Function (with Gateway)" section for details.

8.2 Reset to Factory State

To reset the lock to its factory default settings:

  1. Locate the reset button on the back of the front shell.
  2. With the device powered on, long-press the reset button for 3 seconds.
  3. You will hear a voice prompt: "Please enter the initialization passcode (000)".
  4. Enter the default master passcode: 123456.
  5. If successfully entered, a sound tip "Delete Administrator successfully" will confirm the reset.
  6. Test the passcode 123456 to unlock the key box.

Use a small pin (less than 2.5mm in diameter) to press the reset button.

9. User Tips

  • Measure Carefully: Before purchasing and installing, ensure you accurately measure your door's dimensions and choose the correct mortise type to avoid installation issues.
  • Battery Type: Always use the specified 4pcs AAA alkaline batteries for emergency power. Using incorrect battery types can damage the lock.
  • Key Safety: Never store your mechanical emergency keys inside the keybox or anywhere easily accessible near the door. Keep them in a secure, separate location.
