4.2 Mounting the Outdoor Sensor
Choose an appropriate location for the outdoor sensor that is open, free from obstructions, and allows for accurate measurement of wind, rain, and sunlight. Ensure it is easily accessible for maintenance.

- Assemble the support rod (D11) and fixed base (D12) using the large nut (D17) and socket head cap screws (D13).
- Mount the assembled sensor using the provided accessories. Common options include mounting on top of a pole, on the side of a structure, or directly onto a pole using clamps.
- Use the built-in bubble level (D4) to ensure the sensor is perfectly horizontal for accurate rainfall measurements.
- Orient the sensor so the 'North direction mark' (D15) points North for accurate wind direction readings.
4.3 Wi-Fi Connection and App Synchronization
The weather station connects to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router to sync data with the Tuya Smart System app.

- Download and install the Tuya Smart app on your smartphone (available on App Store and Google Play).
- Create a new account or log in to your existing account.
- Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The device may appear as "weather 2-1" or similar.
- Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during the setup process.
- Once connected, the weather station will upload detected meteorological data to the app, allowing for real-time viewing and historical data analysis.

- Set the channel switch (E7) on the remote sensor to an unused channel (1, 2, or 3).
- The main display unit will automatically detect and display data from the new sensor.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
- Outdoor Sensor: Replace the 3 x LR6 AAA 1.5V batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- Main Display Unit: Replace the 2 x LR6 AA 1.5V batteries when needed. If using the power adapter, batteries serve as backup.
- Optional Remote Sensor: Replace the 2 x LR6 AAA 1.5V batteries when the low battery indicator appears.
6.2 Cleaning
- Wipe the display unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check the rain funnel (D2) on the outdoor sensor for debris and clean as necessary to ensure accurate rainfall measurements.
- Ensure the temperature/humidity induction box (D5) and sensing louver (E4) are clear of obstructions.
6.3 Environmental Considerations
- The main unit operates best between 0°C to +50°C.
- The wireless remote sensor can operate between -30°C to +70°C. Use appropriate batteries for extreme temperatures: Alkaline zinc manganese batteries for -20°C to +60°C, and Polymer lithium ion rechargeable batteries for -40°C to +70°C.
- Avoid placing the outdoor sensor near heat sources or in direct sunlight (other than its own solar panel) to prevent inaccurate temperature readings.
7. Troubleshooting
- No outdoor data displayed: Check outdoor sensor batteries. Ensure the sensor is within the 100m (300ft) transmission range and there are no major obstructions (thick walls, metal structures) between the sensor and the main unit. Press the manual transmit signal button (D9) on the outdoor sensor.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the outdoor sensor is mounted correctly (level for rain, North-facing for wind direction) and away from direct heat sources or reflective surfaces. Clean the rain funnel and temperature/humidity induction box.
- Wi-Fi connection issues: Ensure your router is 2.4 GHz. Restart your router, the main display unit, and your smartphone. Re-attempt the Wi-Fi setup process via the Tuya Smart app.
- Display not lighting up: Ensure the power adapter is connected and functioning, or check the AA batteries in the main unit.
- App not showing data: Verify the main display unit is connected to Wi-Fi. Check your internet connection. Ensure the Tuya Smart app is updated to the latest version.
