4.2 Connectivity

The shifter supports dual-mode connection:

  1. Direct USB Connection: Connect the shifter directly to your PC using the provided USB-A to Type-C cable. The PC should automatically detect the device.
  2. PXN Dock Connection: Alternatively, connect the shifter to a compatible PXN dock using the provided Type-C to Type-C cable or RJ11 to RJ11 Data Cable, depending on the dock's interface.

4.3 Software Installation (Optional)

For customization of RGB backlit keys and other functions, download the official PXN client software or mobile application from the PXN website. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation and configuration.

5. Operation

5.1 Gear Shifting

The SMG Sequential Shifter provides realistic gear engagement. To shift gears, firmly push or pull the shifter lever. The self-developed physical feedback structure will simulate the 'suction' and 'jerking' sensations of a real gear change.

5.2 Adjustable Damping

The damping of the gear shift can be adjusted to your preference. Locate the external damping adjustment bolt (refer to the side view image in the features section) and turn it to increase or decrease the resistance during shifts. Turning clockwise typically increases damping, while counter-clockwise decreases it.

5.3 LED Gear Display

The integrated LED high-definition screen displays the current gear position in real-time. This allows you to quickly monitor your gear status and make informed driving decisions.

5.4 Multi-functional Pull Rod & RGB Keys

The multi-functional pull rod can be mapped to various in-game functions, including a one-click neutral feature. The RGB backlit keys provide additional customizable controls. Use the PXN client software/APP to assign functions and customize the 256-level light colors for these keys.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the aluminum alloy body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the shifter in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the USB and data cables to prevent internal damage.
  • Sensor Care: The Hall Magnetic Induction Sensor is maintenance-free. Avoid exposing it to strong magnetic fields or physical impact.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Shifter Not Detected by PC

  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the shifter and the PC.
  • Try a different USB port on your PC.
  • Test with a different USB cable if available.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Check Device Manager on your PC to see if the device is listed and if there are any driver issues.

7.2 Incorrect Gear Display or Shifting Issues

  • Verify that the shifter is properly calibrated within your game or simulator software settings.
  • Check the physical feedback adjustment bolt; ensure it's not overtightened or too loose, which might affect shifting feel.
  • Ensure the PXN client software/APP is up to date.

7.3 RGB Keys Not Functioning or Customizing

  • Ensure the PXN client software/APP is installed and running.
  • Verify that the shifter is connected and recognized by the software.
  • Check for any software updates for the PXN client.
