4. Setup Guide

4.1 Charging the Speaker Microphone

  1. Locate the Type-C charging port on the side of the speaker microphone.
  2. Connect the provided USB-A to Type-C charging cable to the speaker microphone.
  3. Plug the USB-A end of the cable into a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  4. The charging indicator light (if present) will show the charging status. Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.

Note: The speaker mic can be used normally when the battery is low, but the volume cannot be adjusted if the battery is completely exhausted.

4.2 Connecting to a Two-Way Radio

  1. Ensure your two-way radio is turned off.
  2. Align the 2-pin K-type connector of the speaker microphone with the accessory port on your Baofeng walkie-talkie.
  3. Gently push the connector firmly into the port until it clicks into place.
  4. Turn on your two-way radio. The speaker microphone should now be ready for use.

Compatible Baofeng Models: UV-5R MINI, UV-5R PRO, UV-21R UV-5X3, UV-82, UV-S9 Plus, BF-888S, BF-F8HP PRO, and other compatible models.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Function

  • To transmit, press and hold the large PTT button located on the side of the speaker microphone.
  • Speak clearly into the microphone.
  • Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.

5.2 Adjusting Volume

  • Rotate the volume adjustment key (knob) located on the top of the speaker microphone clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
  • The volume control is stepless, allowing for fine adjustments.

5.3 Using the 3.5mm Headphone Jack

  • Insert any standard 3.5mm headphone into the headphone jack on the side of the speaker microphone.
  • Audio will now be routed through your headphones, allowing for private communication.

5.4 Attaching the Speaker Microphone

  • Belt Clip: Use the 360° rotating belt clip to securely attach the speaker microphone to your belt, pocket, or other gear. Rotate the clip to your desired orientation.
  • Top Hook: Utilize the rotatable top hook to hang the speaker microphone from a loop, strap, or other convenient location for hands-free access.

6. Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the speaker microphone with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
