4. Compatibility
The THINKRIDER PP5 Power Meter is designed for road bicycles and requires specific crankset configurations for installation. It adopts the mainstream 110 BCD bolt design, making it compatible with most 110 BCD standard 3-bolt chainrings.
Crankset Requirements:
- The PP5 is compatible with cranksets that feature a detachable spider (4-bolt) and match the PP5's interface specifications.
- It is not compatible with Shimano's road cranksets (105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace) that feature a non-separable and non-detachable crank design.
- When paired with a ThinkRider crank, it seamlessly integrates with SHIMANO Ultegra (U1), Dura-Ace (DA), and 105 chainrings.

Note: Some non-standard four-arm chainrings with irregular shapes may also be incompatible. Please verify compatibility based on actual conditions.
5. Installation
Installing the THINKRIDER PP5 Power Meter involves replacing your existing crank spider. Ensure you have the correct tools and refer to your bicycle's crankset manual for specific removal instructions.
General Installation Steps:
- Remove Existing Crank Spider: Carefully remove your bicycle's existing crank spider and chainrings from the crank arm, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Attach PP5 Power Meter: Align the PP5 Power Meter Spider with the mounting points on your crank arm.
- Secure the Spider: Use the appropriate bolts to secure the power meter to the crank arm. Ensure the bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque specification, which is typically 13 N·m for the inner lockring.
- Install Chainrings: Attach your chainrings to the PP5 Power Meter Spider, ensuring correct orientation and bolt alignment.
- Reinstall Crank Arm: Reinstall the crank arm assembly onto your bicycle, following your bicycle manufacturer's guidelines.

6. Operation
The PP5 Power Meter provides comprehensive cycling data and supports multi-device sharing.
Connectivity:
The power meter supports both Bluetooth (BLE) and ANT+ dual protocols, allowing simultaneous operation and compatibility with a wide range of devices:
- ANT+: Connects to mainstream bike computers/watches/computers such as Garmin, Bryton, Wahoo, IGPSPORT, POLAR, XOSS, etc.
- BLE: Connects to third-party sports apps on phones/iPads like ZWIFT, Powerfun, ThinkRider, and other micro cycling smart cycling sports apps.
Data Provided:
The PP5 captures and transmits essential cycling metrics:
- Power Data: Accurate power output with ±1% precision.
- Cadence Data: Pedaling revolutions per minute (RPM).
- Left-Right Balance: Provides insight into the power distribution between your left and right legs, helping to identify and correct imbalances.
- Pedal Smoothness: Analyzes the consistency of your pedal stroke.

7. Charging
The PP5 Power Meter features convenient magnetic charging.
- Charging Method: Use the provided magnetic charge cable to connect the power meter to a USB power source. The magnetic contacts ensure easy and secure alignment.
- Battery Life: A single full charge provides an ultra-long battery life of up to 300 hours, allowing for extended riding sessions without frequent recharging. Note that actual battery life may be affected by ambient temperature and usage conditions.

8. Calibration
The THINKRIDER PP5 Power Meter is designed for super easy calibration. For precise calibration steps, please refer to the instructions within the compatible ThinkRider app or your preferred cycling computer software. Regular calibration ensures the most accurate power readings.

- Wear and Tear: Natural wear and performance degradation caused by normal use are not covered by the warranty and require regular inspection and replacement of worn parts.

10. Troubleshooting
Common Issues:
- Difficulty tightening inner lockring: Ensure you are using the correct tool for the inner lockring of the power meter spindle. This is a specialized component, and using the wrong tool can cause damage or prevent proper tightening. Consult a professional bike mechanic if unsure.
- Inaccurate power readings: Perform a calibration using the ThinkRider app or your cycling computer. Ensure the power meter is clean and free from debris.
- Connectivity issues: Check that Bluetooth or ANT+ is enabled on your receiving device. Ensure the power meter is charged. Try re-pairing the device.
11. User Tips
- Specialized Tools: For installation and maintenance, especially when dealing with the inner lockring of the power meter spindle, ensure you have the correct specialized tools. Incorrect tools can strip bolts or damage components.
