5.2 Wiring the Smart Meter and Current Transformers

The smart meter requires connection to the neutral and live wires of your three-phase system. The split-core current transformers (CTs) are used to measure current without direct contact with the main conductors.

  1. Power Connection: Connect the L1, L2, L3 (Live phases) and N (Neutral) wires from your main access switch to the corresponding terminals on the smart meter. The nominal voltage is 100-240V AC.
  2. Current Transformer (CT) Installation:
    • For each phase (L1, L2, L3), open one split-core current transformer.
    • Carefully clamp each CT around a single live wire (L1, L2, L3 respectively) that you wish to monitor. Ensure the CT is securely closed.
    • Connect the red and black wires from each CT to the corresponding B1/R1, B2/R2, B3/R3 terminals on the smart meter. Ensure correct polarity if indicated on the CTs or meter.
  3. Double-check all connections for tightness and correctness before restoring power.

6.2 Data Tracking and Analysis

The app records historical energy data, allowing you to:

  • Track total active energy consumption over time.
  • Analyze energy usage patterns to identify peak consumption periods.
  • Monitor solar power contributions (reverse energy) for optimization.
  • Detect anomalies in power usage that might indicate faulty appliances or inefficiencies.

6.3 Multi-User Sharing and Smart Alerts

  • Device Sharing: Share access to your smart meter's data with family members or team members through the Tuya Smart App for collaborative energy management.
  • Smart Alerts: Configure custom alerts for high consumption, voltage fluctuations, or other parameters to receive notifications and take timely action.

7. Maintenance

The ATMS100133Z Smart Meter is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure its longevity and accurate performance:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature range (-20℃ to +60℃) and avoid excessive humidity.
  • Physical Inspection: Occasionally inspect the wiring connections to ensure they remain secure.
  • Firmware Updates: Keep the Tuya Smart App updated to the latest version to receive performance improvements and new features. The device firmware may also be updated via the app.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your smart meter, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

8.1 Cannot Install / Device Not Fitting

  • Check Compatibility: Ensure the device model is compatible with your electrical panel and DIN rail specifications.
  • Obstructions: Verify that there are no foreign objects obstructing the installation area or the DIN rail clips.

8.2 Device Not Connecting to App / WiFi Issues

  • 2.4GHz WiFi: Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal and your phone is connected to it during setup. The meter does not support 5GHz WiFi.
  • Signal Strength: Ensure the smart meter is within range of your WiFi router.
  • Reset WiFi: Press and hold the 'Touch 5s to Connect' button on the meter for 5 seconds until the WiFi indicator blinks rapidly to enter pairing mode.
  • App Version: Make sure your Tuya Smart App is up to date.

8.3 Inaccurate Readings

  • CT Installation: Ensure each split-core current transformer is correctly clamped around a single live wire and securely closed. Incorrect installation can lead to inaccurate readings.
  • Wiring: Verify that all wiring connections (L1, L2, L3, N, and CT wires) are correct and tight.
  • Calibration: While the meter is factory calibrated, significant discrepancies should be reported to support.

9. User Tips

  • Energy Efficiency: Regularly review your energy consumption data in the Tuya Smart App to identify high-usage periods or appliances. This can help you make informed decisions to reduce waste and save on electricity bills.
  • Solar Monitoring: If you have solar panels, utilize the bi-directional measurement feature to track both grid consumption and solar generation, optimizing your energy independence.
  • Anomaly Detection: Pay attention to sudden spikes or unusual patterns in your energy data, which could indicate a malfunctioning appliance or an electrical issue.
  • Data Sharing: Share access with household members to foster a collective effort towards energy conservation.
