4. Initial Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Locate the rear cover lock and open the battery compartment.
- Insert the 5180 mAh battery into its slot, ensuring proper alignment of the contacts.
- Close the battery compartment and secure the rear cover lock.

4.2. SIM Card Installation
The device supports nano SIM cards. Depending on your model, you may have options for single or dual SIM, and eSIM support.
- Locate the SIM card slot, usually near the battery compartment.
- Insert your nano SIM card(s) into the designated slot(s) according to the diagram on the device.
- Ensure the SIM card(s) are securely seated.
4.3. Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the MEFERI logo appears on the screen.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until a power-off menu appears. Select "Power off" and confirm.
5. Basic Operation
5.1. Barcode Scanning
The ME40K is equipped with an advanced barcode scanning engine for efficient data collection.
- Open the scanning application on your device.
- Point the scan engine at the 1D or 2D barcode you wish to scan.
- Press either the Left or Right Scan button to activate the scanner.
- The device will emit a light beam and a confirmation sound/vibration upon successful scan. The scanned data will appear on the screen.

5.2. Touch Screen and Keypad
- Touch Screen: Navigate the Android interface by tapping, swiping, and pinching. The screen supports wet hand and glove operation.
- Physical Keypad: Use the 21 physical alphanumeric keys for data entry and navigation, providing tactile feedback for efficient use.
- Programmable Buttons: Customize the function buttons to quickly access frequently used applications or features.
6. Connectivity
6.1. Wi-Fi (WLAN)
The ME40K supports advanced WLAN features and seamless Wi-Fi roaming, ensuring continuous connectivity without data loss during transitions between access points.
- Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and select your desired network.
- Enter the password if prompted and connect.
6.2. Bluetooth (WPAN)
Connect to Bluetooth devices such as headsets or printers.
- Go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth.
- Turn on Bluetooth and pair with your desired device.
6.3. Cellular (WWAN)
