1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Techage 8CH WiFi NVR. This Network Video Recorder is designed to provide a reliable and intelligent surveillance solution for your home or business. Featuring support for up to 5MP cameras, H.265 video compression, advanced human and face detection, two-way audio, and remote access capabilities, this NVR ensures comprehensive monitoring and peace of mind. Please read this manual carefully before installation and operation to ensure proper use and optimal performance.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Hard Drive (HDD) Installation

The NVR supports 2.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs with a maximum thickness of 7mm and up to 6TB capacity. A hard drive is required for video recording and storage. TF card support is also available for up to 128GB.

  1. Unscrew the NVR casing to access the internal compartment.
  2. Connect the SATA power and data cables from the NVR to your 2.5-inch HDD/SSD.
  3. Secure the HDD/SSD within the NVR using the provided screws.
  4. Close and secure the NVR casing.
  5. (Optional) Insert a TF card into the designated slot for additional local storage.

4.2 Physical Connections

Follow the diagram below to connect your NVR and cameras.

  1. Connect the NVR Power Adapter to the NVR's DC IN port and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. Connect an HD cable from the NVR's HD Port to your TV or monitor for video output.
  3. Connect the NVR to your WiFi Router via an Ethernet cable to enable network access and remote viewing.
  4. Connect your wireless cameras to their respective power supplies. The NVR will automatically detect and connect to the WiFi cameras.
  5. (Optional) Connect a USB mouse to one of the NVR's USB ports for local control.
  6. (Optional) Connect remote viewing devices (e.g., smartphone, PC) to the same network as the NVR for remote access.

4.3 Initial Power On

Once all connections are made, power on the NVR. The system will boot up, and you should see the video feed on your connected monitor. Follow the on-screen prompts for initial setup, including setting a password and configuring network settings if not automatically detected.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Mobile Phone Viewing (XMEye APP)

The NVR supports remote access via the XMEye APP (or iCSee) on mobile devices and CMS software on Windows.

  1. Download the "XMEye" or "iCSee" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Register an account and log in.
  3. Add your NVR device by scanning the QR code on the NVR or manually entering its ID.
  4. Ensure your NVR is connected to the internet (refer to Section 4.2).
  5. Once added, you can view live footage, playback recordings, and receive alerts from anywhere.

5.2 Video Recording and Playback

The NVR utilizes H.265 compression for efficient storage and supports 24/7 recording. You can access recorded footage through the NVR's local interface or the mobile app.

For Face Playback, the NVR can identify and record faces, allowing you to quickly search for specific events.

5.3 Intelligent Human and Face Detection

The NVR is equipped with advanced AI human detection to minimize false alarms by distinguishing human activity from other movements like pets, moving curtains, or tree shaking.

When human activity is detected, the system can trigger an alarm, send app push notifications, and email alerts with photos.

5.4 Two-Way Audio

The NVR supports two-way audio, allowing you to listen and speak through connected cameras. This feature is useful for communicating with visitors or deterring intruders.

5.5 Night Vision

6. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the NVR unit and camera lenses clean from dust and debris to ensure optimal performance.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check for firmware updates on the manufacturer's website. Do not update casually if there are no issues; consult customer service first.
  • Data Backup: Regularly back up important recordings from your HDD to an external storage device or cloud service.
  • Power Supply: Ensure a stable power supply to the NVR and cameras to prevent interruptions in recording.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the NVR within recommended temperature and humidity ranges to prolong its lifespan.

9. User Tips
