3. Setup Guide
3.1. Installation Location
Proper placement of the repeater is crucial for optimal performance. The repeater should be placed between your wireless router and the area where signal enhancement is needed.
- Ensure the router signal is about 2 bars at the repeater's location.
- The distance from the router should not exceed 10 meters.
- Avoid placing the repeater too far from the router, as a poor relay signal will result in an invalid extended WiFi signal.

Figure 4: Suggestions for optimal repeater placement.
3.2. Initial Configuration (Repeater Mode)
The setup process is simple and quick, requiring no app download. You can configure the device via a web browser.
- Power On: Plug the CF-WR773BE into a power outlet.
- Connect to Repeater's WiFi: On your phone or computer, turn on WiFi and connect to the WiFi signal starting with "COMFAST_xxxx".
- Access Web Interface: After connecting, your device should automatically jump to the login interface. If not, open a web browser and enter the device's IP address (typically
192.168.10.1) in the address bar. - Login: Enter the default login username and password:
admin. Click "Login" to enter the settings interface. - Scan for Signals: The amplifier will automatically search for nearby WiFi signals.
- Select Router WiFi: Choose the WiFi network you wish to extend from the list.
- Enter Password: Input your router's WiFi password (Pre-Shared Key) and click "Save Setting".
- Wait for Configuration: The configuration will take approximately 30 seconds to take effect. Do not power off the device during this time.
- Reconnect: After the configuration is complete, you will need to turn on WiFi again on your device and connect to the newly extended network.

This video demonstrates the installation location considerations, connecting to the repeater's WiFi, accessing the web interface, entering login credentials, scanning for WiFi signals, selecting the router's WiFi, entering the password, and waiting for configuration to take effect. It also covers indicator light status and troubleshooting common issues.
3.3. Multi-Mode Intelligent Networking
The CF-WR773BE supports various working modes to adapt to different network requirements:
- Repeater Mode (Wireless to Wireless): Extends WiFi signal through a relay main router to eliminate dead zones. Ideal for expanding coverage in areas with limited router signal.
- AP/Router Mode (Wired to Wireless): Connect an Ethernet cable to the repeater's WAN/LAN port and use it as a router to transmit WiFi signals.
- Wireless to Wired Mode: If the distance is far, the repeater can receive wireless signals from a router and convert them to wired connections for desktops/laptops/IPTV to access the internet.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your COMFAST CF-WR773BE WiFi Repeater, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Keep Clean: Regularly wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust accumulation, which can affect heat dissipation.
- Ventilation: Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not block the heat dissipation holes.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates to ensure the device has the latest features and security enhancements.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WiFi Repeater, refer to the common problems and solutions below:
Common Problems & Solutions:
- Q: Should I re-set the WiFi repeater if it was powered off after setting it successfully?
A: No need to set up again because all the configuration information is reserved, only if it is restored to factory settings manually. - Q: Can the WiFi repeater work with my WiFi router of another brand?
A: Our WiFi repeater is compatible with most WiFi routers on the market, but it will be better to work with a COMFAST WiFi repeater. - Q: Will my network speed become faster by using the WiFi repeater?
A: It can extend the coverage of WiFi signals, but it cannot improve the WiFi speed. - Q: How far can the signal be extended?
A: Our WiFi repeater can extend areas to 70-100 square meters, and you can use more pieces for wider coverage. The actual use effect depends on the surrounding environment; for example, bearing walls will weaken the WiFi signal so that it can only extend the area of one room. - Q: Are there many rooms at home? Is one repeater enough?
A: If you need to cover multiple rooms, you can add the number of WiFi repeaters according to the actual environment.

Figure 13: Common problems and answers for WiFi repeaters.
Extension Failure Reasons & Solutions:
- Reason ①: The repeater does not receive the router's WiFi signal, resulting in amplification failure.
Solutions:- Check if the router and optical modem are working normally.
- Check if the repeater is outside the router's signal range. Adjust placement as per Section 3.1.
- Reason ②: The WiFi password set on the repeater is inconsistent with the router's WiFi password.
Solutions:- Press and hold the reset button for 5-8 seconds to reset the repeater to factory settings.
- Reset the repeater password according to the method in the "Initial Configuration" section (Section 3.2).

8. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For the best signal extension, place the repeater roughly halfway between your main router and the area needing improved coverage. Observe the WiFi status light; a steady blue light indicates a strong relay signal.
- Signal Strength vs. Speed: Remember that a repeater extends coverage but does not increase your internet speed. If you have slow internet, consider upgrading your internet plan or main router.
- Reset for Troubleshooting: If you experience persistent connection issues or forget your repeater's password, a factory reset (holding the reset button for 5-8 seconds) can often resolve the problem. You will then need to reconfigure the device.
- Multiple Repeaters: For very large homes or complex layouts with many rooms and thick walls, using multiple repeaters might be necessary to achieve full coverage.
