2. Safety Information
This series of meters complies with IEC1010 standards. Please read this Safety Information carefully before use.
General Safety Guidelines
- Only the ET623 model with multimeter function is allowed to measure DCV/ACV and Current with 36V or above.
- Never measure 36V or above (except PoE) if the model does not have multimeter functions. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- For measuring voltage, never input more than 1000V DC or 600V AC (RMS). For measuring current, never input more than 10A.
- It is safe for 36V or below. To avoid electric shock, check the test leads' connection and insulation before measuring 36V DC or above and 25V DC or above.
- Remove the test leads from the testing point before switching functions and ranges.
- The meter has full protections. For safety, always select the correct function and range.
Warnings
- Do not use the equipment if it appears damaged or abnormal. The internal protection may be compromised.
- Do not input over the specified range. This may cause injury or damage to the meter.
- Do not use the meter just before, during, or immediately after an electrical storm.
- Remove the batteries if the meter is to be stored for a long period to prevent battery leakage and damage.
- The meter is not allowed to search or check energized cables. Contact with energized cables may cause injury to the user and damage the meter.
- Only test leads are allowed to connect to the meter when using the multimeter. Other ports connected to energized cables (except PoE equipment) may cause injury or damage.
- Check the battery if the low battery indicator on the LCD of the main body turns on, or the red LED on the receiver is flashing.
- Do not open the case. If service is needed, contact a professional for repair.

5.1. Cable Length Measurement
This function measures the length of network cables (RJ45 8-core or 4-core, telephone line, BNC video cable) from 2.5m to 400m.
- Turn on the device. The product enters the length measurement function.
- Connect the network cable to be tested to the right network cable port of the main unit. Do not connect the other end of the cable to any device.
- The LCD will display "----" in a loop. After inserting the cable, the test completes in 2 to 5 seconds, and the length and wire status (1-8) are displayed.
- Click the ▶ key to switch the length of the 12/34/56/78 line.
- Click the MODE key to switch the length unit to feet (Ft).

The display shows the measured network cable length. Measurable range: 2.5m to 400m (8ft to 1312ft).
5.2. Cable Mapping (TEST)
This function tests for open circuits, crossovers, and short circuits in network cables.
- Click the MODE key to select the TEST function.
- Connect one end of the cable to the MAIN socket and the other end to the RJ45 socket.
- The result (Normal, Short, Cross, Break) is displayed on the LCD.

Cable mapping results for short, cross, and break conditions are displayed on the LCD.
5.3. Cable Tracing (SCAN)
This function helps quickly locate a target cable among many cable pairs using digital noise-free technology.
- Connect one end of the cable to be tested (e.g., network cable, telephone line, video signal line with alligator clip) to the MAIN socket of the transmitter.
- Turn on the transmitter and press the MODE button to switch to the SCAN line-finding function. The product enters the line-finding signal transmission state.
- Press the MODE button of the receiver for 2 seconds to turn on and enter the line-finding function state (blue light indicates digital line-finding).
- Listen for the "beep" sound from the receiver speaker around the other end of the line. Compare the sound intensity to identify the target cable.

The device offers both flashlight and digital tracing for efficient cable identification.
5.4. QC (Quality Verify Crimping Crystal Port)
This function detects whether RJ45/RJ11 connectors are properly crimped.
- Click MODE to select the crystal head test function.
- Insert one end of the cable to be tested into the MAIN interface. The other end of the cable should be unloaded (not connected to any device).
- The device will enter the wire crimping test state, and results will be displayed.
- For a good connection, the host LCD will prompt: "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8".
- If, for example, line 4 is faulty, the host LCD will prompt: "1-2-3-x-5-6-7-8".
Note: This test checks crimping quality, not line sequence. For line sequence testing, use the cable mapping function. The cable length for this test must be greater than 20cm.

The QC-Connector Crimping Test identifies issues like a line 1-core wire not properly crimped, indicated by the No.1 light not illuminating.
5.5. Port Flash
This function helps identify the specific port of a target cable on a network switch by making its LED flash.
- When the TEST function is in use, click the ▶ key to enter the switch line function. "HUB" will be displayed on the LCD.
- Connect one end of the cable to be tested to the MAIN socket of the transmitter and the other end to the switch port.
- The corresponding LED light of the switch port will flash at intervals of about 3 seconds, allowing you to identify the target port.
Applicable to 10M/100M/1000M switches.

The Switch Port Flicker function helps locate the correct port on a switch by making its corresponding light blink.
5.6. Remote ID Mapping (Optional)
This function allows for mapping and identifying multiple cable runs in one step using optional ID units.
- Click the MODE button to select the ID TEST remote identification function.
- Connect one end of the network cable to an optional ID identifier and the other end to the host MAIN port.
- The host LCD will immediately display the corresponding ID number, providing accurate identification of the network cable.

ID Remote Mapping allows for mapping and identifying multiple cable runs in one step. The adapter is optional.
5.7. POE Test
The PoE voltage measurement function can analyze the power supply of PoE devices, including voltage and polarity.
- Press the MODE button and select POE.
- Connect the network cable to the host socket and the other end to the PoE power supply device.
- The product will detect the device and display the test results. For non-standard PoE, it will directly measure and display the power supply voltage.
Note: If the result is not displayed after 30 seconds, the connected device may not be a PoE device. The actual output voltage of PoE may differ from the nominal voltage.

POE Testing displays voltage, polarity, and pins providing power.
5.8. Multimeter Functions (ET623 Only)
The ET623 model includes a full-featured multimeter for various electrical measurements.
