4.3 Receiver Connection to Heating System

The receiver unit connects directly to your gas boiler or actuators. The receiver is powered by 220V AC. For your safety, installation should always be performed by a qualified professional.

  • Connect N and L pins to a 220V AC power supply.
  • For gas boilers, connect the K1 and K2 pins (dry contacts) to your boiler's control terminals. Refer to your boiler's manual for specific wiring.
  • For NC (Normally Closed) actuators, connect N and NC pins.
  • For NO (Normally Open) actuators, connect N and NO pins.
  • The receiver can also connect to a pumper.

Important: Boilers and actuators/valves cannot be connected at the same time. Ensure proper wiring to avoid damage or safety hazards.

6. Maintenance

  • **Cleaning:** Wipe the thermostat's screen and body with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the device.
  • **Battery Replacement:** If using battery power, replace the 3 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • **Avoid Obstructions:** Keep the thermostat free from obstructions (e.g., furniture, curtains) that could block airflow and affect temperature readings.
  • **Environmental Conditions:** Ensure the thermostat is not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources, as this can lead to inaccurate temperature readings.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Thermostat display is blank. No power (USB or batteries). Check USB connection or replace AA batteries.
Heating system not responding. Receiver not powered or wired incorrectly. RF communication issue. Ensure receiver has 220V AC power. Verify wiring to boiler/actuators. Check RF signal strength; move thermostat closer to receiver if needed.
App control not working. Thermostat not connected to Wi-Fi or app. Wi-Fi signal weak. Ensure thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi. Re-pair with the app if necessary. Check Wi-Fi router.
Inaccurate temperature reading. Thermostat placed near heat source/draft, or in direct sunlight. Relocate the thermostat to a more central and stable temperature area.
Voice control not responding. Incorrect voice assistant setup or command. Verify Smart Life/Tuya Smart account is linked to your voice assistant. Use correct commands.

8. User Tips

  • **Optimal Placement:** For the most accurate temperature readings, place the thermostat in a central room, away from direct sunlight, windows, doors, or heat-emitting appliances.
  • **Battery Life:** If using batteries, consider using high-quality alkaline batteries for longer life. Remove batteries if the thermostat will be unused for an extended period.
  • **Wi-Fi Stability:** Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and the thermostat is within good range of your router for reliable app and voice control.
  • **Professional Installation:** For the receiver unit's wiring, especially with gas boilers, it is highly recommended to consult a qualified electrician or heating engineer to ensure safe and correct installation.
  • **Child Lock for Safety:** Always enable the child lock feature if you have young children to prevent unintended changes to your heating settings.
