4. Setup

4.1 Initial Connection

The NEO87 keyboard supports three connection modes: Wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4G Wireless. Choose your preferred method:

  • Wired Connection: Connect the provided Type-C USB cable from the keyboard to your computer's USB port. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode.
  • Bluetooth Connection:
    1. Locate the connection mode switch on the top right of the keyboard and slide it to the "BT" position.
    2. On your computer or device, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
    3. Select "NEO87" from the list of available devices to pair.
    4. Use FN+W, FN+E, or FN+R to switch between Bluetooth profiles 1, 2, and 3 respectively.
  • 2.4G Wireless Connection:
    1. Locate the connection mode switch on the top right of the keyboard and slide it to the "2.4G" position.
    2. Insert the 2.4G USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
    3. The keyboard should automatically connect. If not, press FN+Q to activate 2.4G mode.

4.2 Hot-Swapping Switches

The NEO87 features full-key hot-swappable technology, allowing you to change switches without soldering.

  • Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove the keycap from the desired switch.
  • Use the provided switch puller to gently extract the switch from the PCB.
  • Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
  • Replace the keycap.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Backlight Control

The keyboard features independent light strips and customizable RGB lighting. Use the following FN key combinations to control the backlight:

  • FN + DEL: Switch backlight color
  • FN + INS: Switch backlight lighting effects
  • FN + HOME: Switch bottom light bar
  • FN + ESC: Restore factory settings
  • FN + ↑: Increase backlight brightness
