Line Capacity Interpretation:
The line capacity is based on reference data of J-BRAID and nylon line. Actual measurements may vary slightly. The winding length refers to the length of line retrieved per handle rotation.
LT Interpretation Method for Series Product Models:
The model numbers (e.g., LT2500S-XH) indicate the reel size, spool type (S for shallow spool), and gear ratio (XH for extra high gear).
Line Diameter Comparison Tables:
| Size (lb) | 0.6 | 0.8 | 1 | 1.2 | 1.5 | 1.7 | 2 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.5 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

5. Setup & Assembly
Handle Replacement:
The reel is shipped with the handle set for left-hand retrieve. To switch the handle to the right-hand retrieve:
- Unscrew the handle screw cap counter-clockwise and remove it.
- Pull the handle straight out from the reel body.
- Insert the handle into the opposite side of the reel body.
- Replace the handle screw cap and tighten it clockwise until there is no gap between the wire cup and the cup slot.

Figure 3: Structural Description diagram, including handle replacement.
CAUTION: When replacing the handle for the first time, the screw might be tight. This is normal and designed to enhance handle performance. Tighten the screw firmly by hand.
6. Operating Instructions
Casting:
- WARNING: Before casting, always open the bail. Failure to do so may cause the line to break or the lure to fly off unexpectedly, potentially injuring people nearby.
- CAUTION: Ensure the anti-reverse stopper is engaged (ON) before casting. If it's OFF, the handle may reverse during the cast, causing injury.
Drag Adjustment:
The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) system provides smooth and consistent drag. Adjust the drag knob on the front of the spool to your desired tension. Turn clockwise to increase drag, counter-clockwise to decrease.
7. Maintenance
Cleaning:
- After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the reel thoroughly with fresh water.
- Wipe the reel dry with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as they can damage the finish and internal components.
- Ensure no water enters the internal mechanisms.
Storage:
- Store the reel in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid storing the reel in areas with high humidity or corrosive environments.
- Keep the reel in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust and physical damage.
Lubrication:
Periodically apply a small amount of reel grease to the main gear and a drop of reel oil to the bearings and line roller. Refer to the detailed PDF manual for specific lubrication points and types of lubricants.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your DAIWA CROSSFIRE LT reel, please refer to the following general advice:
- Stiff or noisy retrieve: The reel may require cleaning and lubrication. Ensure no sand or debris is trapped in the gears.
- Line twist: Check your line roller for smooth rotation. Ensure you are not overfilling the spool with line.
- Drag not smooth: Clean the drag washers and ensure they are properly seated. Avoid overtightening the drag when storing the reel.
For more detailed troubleshooting, please consult the comprehensive PDF user manual.
9. User Tips
- Always check your line for nicks or abrasions before and after each fishing trip to prevent unexpected line breaks.
- When fighting a large fish, use the drag system effectively rather than relying solely on brute force to avoid damaging the reel or breaking the line.
- Consider using a reel cover during transport to protect it from scratches and impacts.
