The INNIOASIS Y1 is a versatile digital music player designed for audiophiles. It supports over 20 Hi-Fi audio formats, offers customizable EQ settings, and features a classic click wheel for easy navigation. With 128GB of internal storage, you can carry thousands of songs without needing Wi-Fi.

Device Layout and Controls

The Y1 player features a 2.4-inch screen and a click wheel for primary interaction. Key physical controls include:

  • Click Wheel: Used for navigation (scrolling up/down, left/right) and volume control.
  • OK Button (center of click wheel): Confirms selections, plays/pauses, activates shortcuts.
  • RETURN Button: Navigates back to the previous level/menu.
  • Previous/Rewind Button (): Skips to previous track, rewinds.
  • Next/Fast Forward Button (): Skips to next track, fast forwards.

Setup

Transferring Music to the Player

  1. Connect the Y1 player to your computer using the included USB-C cable.
  2. On the Y1 player, short press the OK button to confirm "Turn on USB storage".
  3. On your computer's desktop, open "This PC" (Windows) or Finder (Mac). You will find a new USB drive representing the Y1 player's storage.
  4. Copy your downloaded music files from your computer and paste them into the newly added USB drive.

Tip: If you turn on USB storage, some apps running on the player will stop and may be unavailable until you turn off USB storage.

The Y1 player supports a wide range of audio formats including MP3, WAV, APE, FLAC, Ogg, WMA, AIFF, AAC, M4A, MP2, AMR, MID, M4R, MMF, WV, AIF, AU, RA, MKA, AC3, CAF. No conversion is needed for these formats.

Home Screen Navigation

The Home screen lists all functional options of the Y1 player, including: Now Playing, Music, Audiobook, FM Radio, Photos, Bluetooth, Settings, Shuffle Quick. Use the click wheel to navigate.

Music

The Music section allows you to browse and play your audio files. You can manage your music by categories, playlists, artists, albums, genres, and folders.

About Shortcut Menu

Long press the OK key in any folder under Music to access a shortcut menu for file management:

  • Multi Select: Select music/files one by one.
  • All Select: Select all music/files in the current folder.
  • Delete File: Delete the selected music.
  • Add to Playlist 1,2,3...: Add selected music to a target playlist.

About Playlists

The Y1 Player allows you to add, delete, and rename playlists. Long press the OK button in the playlist folder to open the shortcut menu and select the desired operation.

  • New Playlist: Add a new playlist (default names like Playlist 6, 7...).
  • Delete Playlist: Delete the current playlist.
  • Rename: Rename the current playlist.

About Search

The Y1 Player allows you to search for tracks or albums by song title. Click "Search" and enter part or all of the song name in the pop-up input box. The search results will be previewed above the input box.

Audiobook

The Audiobook section is for playing audiobooks. Only books stored in the device's dedicated "Audiobook" folder are recognized as audiobooks. Books stored elsewhere will be recognized as music.

About Bookmark Lists

In the audiobook playback interface, long press the OK button to activate the bookmark function. All created bookmarks are saved in this list. Long press the OK key in the bookmark list to open a shortcut menu, allowing you to select all, multi-select, and delete bookmarks.

Audiobook Settings

These settings are only available when playing audiobooks:

  • Shuffle: Enable/disable shuffle mode.
  • Repeat: Enable/disable loop playback.
  • Speed: Adjust playback speed (Slow, Normal, Fast, Fastest).
  • Time off: Set stop playback time (Off, 10min, 20min, 30min, 60min).

FM Radio

The FM Radio function allows you to listen to radio broadcasts. A wired headset must be connected to act as an antenna.

About Shortcut Menu (FM Radio)

In the radio broadcast window, long press the RETURN key to open the shortcut menu:

  • Play: Play the current channel.
  • Pause: Pause playback.
  • Channel List: List all saved channels for auto search and manual search.

FM Radio Options

  • Frequency Range: Change frequency area (America, Asia, Australia, Europe, Japan).
  • Re-search Channel: Start Auto Channel Search.
  • Audio output: Change the audio output mode (Headset, Speaker). Short press OK key to switch.
  • Record FM: Turn on radio recording.

Photo

View your images in the Photo section. The player supports JPG and PNG formats.

  • Delete: Delete the selected folder/file/picture.
  • MultiSelect: Activate multiple selection and select files one by one.
  • All Select: Select all folders or files at once.
  • Rename: Rename the current folder or file.
  • As Wallpaper: Set the current picture as desktop or global wallpaper.

Available Settings:

  • About: View device information.
  • Shuffle: (Music only) Toggle shuffle mode on/off.
  • Repeat: (Music only) Change loop mode: off, list loop, single loop.
  • Backlight: Adjust backlight time (10s, 15s, 30s, 45s, 60s, 2m, 5m, Always).
  • Brightness: Adjust screen brightness by sliding the click wheel clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • Display Battery: Select whether to display the battery percentage in the title bar.
  • Timed shutdown: Set the time for automatic shutdown (Off, 10min, 20min, 30min, 60min, 90min, 120min).
  • Shutdown: Power off the device.
  • Equalizer: Choose from 10 preset styles (Normal, Classical, Dance, Flat, Folk, Heavy Metal, Hip Hop, Jazz, Pop, Rock) and customize EQ.
  • Key tone: Enable or disable key press sounds.
  • Key vibration: Enable or disable key press vibration.
  • Date & Time: Set date, time, and time format.
  • Language: Set the device language.
  • Factory Reset: Reset the device to factory settings. Warning: All saved files on the device will be deleted. Please be careful.

Shuffle Quick

Quickly select a song randomly and start music playing.

Maintenance

  • Keep the device dry. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Handle the device with care to prevent physical damage.

Troubleshooting (FAQ)

General

Q: How to shuffle?
A: In "Settings – Shuffle", switch the status to "ON".
Q: How to get list loop?
A: In "Settings - Repeat", switch the status to "List loop".
Q: How do shuffle and repeat work together?
A: Refer to the table below for combinations of Shuffle and Repeat settings:

Q: How to view lyrics?
A: In the Now Playing window, short press OK to switch to lyrics display. Short press again to return to the song information display.
Q: How to use A-B repeat?
A:
  1. When playing a song or audiobook, long press the Play/Pause button () to activate A-B Repeat, setting the current time as point A.
  2. The logo "A-B" will be displayed on the top right of the screen, and "B?" will flash. Long press the Play/Pause button () again to set point B. The section between A and B will then repeat.

Tips: The same second cannot be set for both point A and point B. To change the A-B repeat clip, resume normal playing, then repeat steps 1 and 2. During A-B repeat, you can still use Return, pause/play, forward/rewind, previous/next song. Note that previous/next song will exit A-B repeat.

Q: Can I add a bookmark to audiobooks?
A: Yes. When playing audiobooks, long press the OK key in the middle of the click wheel to open a dialog box. Confirm to add a bookmark. All created bookmarks are preserved in the "Audiobook --- Bookmark lists" section.
Q: Is the player equipped with an equalizer and how to use it?
A: Yes, the Y1 is equipped with EQ. Go to "Settings -- Equalizer" to select a preset style. Long press the OK key to activate the customized EQ. To use custom EQ, navigate to any preset style under "Settings--Equalizer", long press OK to activate. Then press the Next button () to switch bands. Swipe clockwise or anticlockwise on the click wheel to change the band's value. Select "Reset" to restore defaults.

Audiobook Specific

Q: Why didn't I find the audiobooks uploaded to the device?
A: To avoid confusion with music files, only books stored in the dedicated "Audiobooks" folder will be recognized as audiobooks. Books stored elsewhere will be recognized as music. Ensure you upload audiobooks to the correct folder. Encrypted audiobooks (e.g., .m4b, .aax files) cannot be recognized.

FM Radio Specific

Q: Is a wired headset required as an antenna to use FM radio?
A: Yes, you must connect a wired headset to start FM Radio.
Q: Is Bluetooth headphone available for radio?
A: Yes. It is recommended to plug in a wired headset and start FM before connecting your Bluetooth headset, as the default audio output is the last connected device.
Q: How to search for a station manually?
A: In the FM window, short press the OK key to activate manual channel search. Slide the click wheel counterclockwise or clockwise to adjust the frequency. Short press OK again to save the channel.
Q: Can I record FM and how?
A: Long press the RETURN key to activate the shortcut menu, then select "Record FM" to start recording the current station. A flashing recording logo will appear. Short press the OK key and confirm to save the recording.

Photo Specific

Q: Why do I get a very blurry desktop background when I set the picture as wallpaper?
A: Ensure your picture pixels are greater than 480 x 360. Then, in "Settings -- Wallpaper", set "Ground glass" to "Off".
Q: What image formats are compatible with the player?
A: Both .PNG and .JPG formats are available.
Q: Can I edit the picture?
A: Only renaming is available; no picture editing options are provided.
Q: How to operate the input keyboard when renaming?
A: Please refer to the "About Search" section in the Music chapter for keyboard operation details.

Bluetooth Specific

Q: How to connect or disconnect devices?
A:
  • Connect: After enabling Bluetooth, available devices will be listed under "Other devices". Swipe the click wheel to locate the target device, then short press OK to pair and connect.
  • Disconnect: Swipe the click wheel to locate the connected device in "My Device". Short press OK and confirm to disconnect.
Q: How to remove a device from my device list?
A: Swipe the click wheel to locate the target device in "My Device". Long press OK and confirm to remove the device.
Q: How to refresh the device list?
A: Turn Bluetooth off and then back on.

  • Music Transfer: The player functions as a standard USB storage device. You cannot directly sync with software like iTunes for purchased music. Instead, download your music files to your computer and then copy-paste them into the player's storage.
  • External Storage: The INNIOASIS Y1 does not support external memory cards (like SD cards). All music and files must be stored on the internal 128GB flash memory.
  • Audiobook Organization: For audiobooks to be recognized correctly, ensure they are placed in the dedicated "Audiobook" folder on the device. Files outside this folder will be treated as regular music.
  • FM Radio Antenna: Always connect a wired headset to the 3.5mm audio jack when using the FM Radio function, as it acts as the antenna.
