5. Safety Precautions

  • Always disconnect power before making any connections or adjustments to the amplifier board.
  • Ensure the power supply voltage is within the specified range (DC 18-50V). Exceeding 53V can damage the board.
  • Do not reverse the positive and negative poles of the power input. The board does not have anti-reverse polarity protection.
  • Avoid short-circuiting output terminals.
  • Keep the board away from moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating, especially during high-power operation.
  • If you are unsure about any connection, consult a qualified technician.

6. Setup Instructions

6.1 Component Identification

Amplifier Board Component Layout and Connections
Figure 6: Layout of the amplifier board showing DC 18-50V Power Input, Left Channel Output, Right Channel Output, Dip Switch Selection, Cascade Protection POP Control Interface, Dip switch, Continuously adjustable volume with switch, and XH2.54-3P audio input terminal.

6.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect your DC 18-50V power supply to the designated power input terminals on the board. Ensure correct polarity (positive to +, negative to -).
  2. It is recommended to use a 36-48V DC power supply with a current of 10A or above for optimal performance.

6.3 Audio Input Connection

  1. Connect your audio source (e.g., smartphone, PC, preamplifier) to the XH2.54-3P audio input terminal.
  2. The left channel audio input is default in PBTL mode.

6.4 Speaker Connection (Dual Channel BTL Mode)

  1. For dual-channel stereo output, connect your left speaker to the Left Channel Output terminals and your right speaker to the Right Channel Output terminals.
  2. Ensure speaker impedance is between 3-8 ohms and power handling is 50-300W per channel.

6.5 Speaker Connection (Mono PBTL Bridging Mode)

To enable PBTL (mono) bridging mode:

  1. Disconnect power before performing bridging operations.
  2. Locate the DIP switch on the board.
  3. Set DIP switch 1 to the ON position to enable PBTL.
  4. For parallel output, short circuit the R+ and L+ output terminals together.
  5. For parallel output, short circuit the R- and L- output terminals together.
  6. Connect your single speaker to the combined R+/L+ and R-/L- terminals.
  7. Ensure speaker impedance is between 2-8 ohms and power handling is 100-600W.

6.6 Cascade Protection POP Control Interface

This interface allows connection to 2.1-channel amplifier boards equipped with this control interface, such as AS21 Gen 2, SUIB600, etc., for synchronized anti-POP control.

7. Operating Instructions

  1. After all connections are securely made, turn on the power supply.
  2. The amplifier board features MCU intelligent anti-POP sound technology, so you should not hear any popping noise during power-on.
  3. Adjust the volume using the analog potentiometer. This potentiometer also acts as a mechanical switch; turn it fully counter-clockwise to switch off the amplifier.
  4. Ensure the audio source is playing and adjust the volume to your desired level.
  5. The intelligent cooling system will automatically activate the fan when the board reaches a certain temperature. You can also manually select continuous fan operation if desired.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the amplifier board. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the fan and heatsink are free from dust and obstructions to maintain optimal cooling performance. Periodically clean any dust accumulation with compressed air.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the amplifier board in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

9. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No sound output
  • No power or incorrect power connection.
  • Audio input cable loose or incorrect.
  • Speaker cables loose or incorrect.
  • Volume knob turned down or off.
  • Protection mechanism activated.
  • Check power supply and polarity.
  • Verify audio input cable connection.
  • Check speaker wiring and ensure correct impedance.
  • Turn up the volume knob.
  • Power cycle the device; check for overheating or short circuits.
Distorted sound
  • Input signal too high.
  • Speaker impedance mismatch.
  • Power supply insufficient.
  • Reduce audio input volume.
  • Ensure speakers match specified impedance.
  • Use a power supply with adequate voltage and current (e.g., 48V 10A).
Amplifier board gets hot
  • Operating at high power for extended periods.
  • Insufficient ventilation.
  • Fan not operating.
  • Ensure adequate airflow around the board.
  • Check if the fan is spinning. If not, inspect connections or consider manual fan operation.
  • Reduce output power if consistently overheating.
Popping noise on power-up/down
  • MCU anti-POP function not working as expected.
  • External interference.
  • Ensure proper grounding of audio source and amplifier.
  • Check for loose connections.
  • If using cascade protection, ensure the interface is correctly connected.

10. User Tips

  • For best sound quality, use a high-quality, stable power supply that meets or exceeds the recommended current.
  • Consider using shielded audio cables to minimize interference and noise.
  • When experimenting with different speaker configurations, always double-check wiring and impedance to prevent damage.
  • Mount the amplifier board in an enclosure that allows for good airflow to the heatsink and fan.
  • If using the PBTL mono mode, ensure your single speaker can handle the increased power output.
