5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to effectively use your 8-in-1 Soil Multi-Parameter Sensor:

  1. Prepare the Soil: Ensure the soil in the area you wish to test is free from large debris. For optimal nitrogen readings, moisten the soil before measurement if initial readings show zero.
  2. Insert the Sensor: Gently insert the metal probes of the sensor directly into the soil. Ensure the probes are fully submerged to the indicated depth for accurate readings. The sensor can be inserted directly or buried in the soil for continuous monitoring.
  3. Monitor Data: Once inserted and connected to your Android device, the application will display real-time measurements for:
    • Humidity
    • Temperature
    • Electrical Conductivity (EC)
    • Nitrogen (N)
    • Phosphorus (P)
    • Potassium (K)
    • Salinity
    • pH
  4. Data Storage and Export: The application supports data storage, allowing you to save current real-time data locally on your phone. You can also export soil parameter data to Excel for comprehensive analysis and record-keeping.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your soil sensor:

  • Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe the metal probes with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soil residue. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could damage the probes.
  • Storage: Store the sensor in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Probe Integrity: The sensor features a durable 316L stainless steel probe and an IP68 waterproof rating, making it suitable for long-term use in various environments, including saline-alkali or humid conditions. However, avoid bending or forcefully impacting the probes.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem: Inaccurate or zero nitrogen readings.
Solution: If initial nitrogen readings are zero or appear inaccurate, moisten the soil thoroughly before taking another measurement. Nitrogen readings are highly dependent on soil moisture content.
Problem: Sensor not connecting to the app.
Solution:
  • Ensure the USB-C adapter and USB cable are securely connected to both the sensor and your Android device.
  • Verify that the soil monitoring application is installed and updated to the latest version.
  • Try restarting your Android device and reconnecting the sensor.
  • Check if your Android device supports USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality, which is required for external USB device connections.
Problem: Inconsistent readings.
Solution:
  • Ensure the probes are fully inserted into the soil and making good contact.
  • Clean the probes thoroughly after each use to prevent residue buildup affecting accuracy.
  • Test in multiple spots within the same area to account for soil variability.

8. User Tips

  • Moisture for NPK: Always ensure the soil is adequately moist, especially when measuring Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium, as dry soil can lead to inaccurate or zero readings for these parameters.
  • Regular Monitoring: Consistent monitoring of your soil conditions over time can help you understand trends and make proactive adjustments to your plant care.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize the data export feature to track changes in soil parameters, which can be invaluable for optimizing fertilization and irrigation schedules.
  • Probe Depth: For best results, insert the probes to a consistent depth each time you take a measurement.

9. Warranty and Support

For specific warranty details, please refer to the terms and conditions provided by your original point of purchase or contact the seller directly. The manufacturer ensures the product meets high safety and operational standards, as indicated by its CE certification.

For technical support or inquiries, please refer to the contact information provided by the seller or through the dedicated soil monitoring application.
