3. Setup
3.1. Device Overview

3.2. Charging the Printer
Before initial use, fully charge the printer using the provided USB Type-C cable and a compatible power adapter (not included). The Power Button Indicator Light will show the charging status.
- Charging Time: Approximately 3 hours for a full charge.
- Battery Capacity: 1500mAh, capable of printing up to 140 sheets on a full charge.

3.3. Loading Paper
The Marklife X8 supports both A4 and US Letter size thermal paper, including folded thermal paper and tattoo transfer paper. It does not have a dedicated roll paper bin, so roll paper must be used externally.
- Press the 'Open Buttons' on the side of the printer to open the paper tray.
- Adjust the paper size guides to match your paper (210mm for A4, 216mm for US Letter).
- Insert the thermal paper into the 'Paper Entry Slot'. The printer will automatically detect the paper placement.
- Ensure the paper is positioned flat. If not, open the paper tray and adjust its placement before proceeding.
- Close the paper tray.

3.4. Software Installation & Connectivity
3.4.1. Mobile App (iOS/Android)
- Download the Marklife app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
- Open the Marklife app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to your Marklife X8 printer via Bluetooth.


3.4.2. PC Driver (Windows/Mac)
- Connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB Type-C cable.
- Ensure the printer is turned on.
- Download the appropriate driver for your operating system (Windows or Mac) from the official Marklife website.
- Important: Please turn off any antivirus software before installing the driver to prevent conflicts.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.

4.1. Document Printing
The printer supports multiple document formats including Word, TXT, Excel, PDF, and PPT. Printed text is clear and legible.

- Adjust print settings as desired (scale factor, print density, copies).
- Initiate printing.

4.3. Tattoo Paper Printing
The Marklife X8 can be used to print designs onto tattoo transfer paper, providing clear and distinct line details for large or small patterns.
- Load tattoo transfer paper into the printer as described in Section 3.3.

- Open the Marklife app and select the tattoo printing option.
- Choose or create your tattoo design.
- Adjust print settings as desired.
- Initiate printing.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning the Print Head
To maintain print quality, regularly clean the thermal print head. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Gently wipe the print head surface. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
5.2. Consumables
The Marklife X8 is an inkless thermal printer, meaning it does not require ink cartridges or ribbons. It exclusively uses thermal paper. Ensure you use high-quality thermal paper for the best printing results and to prevent damage to the print head.

6. Troubleshooting
- Printer not turning on: Ensure the printer is charged. Connect it to a power source using the Type-C cable and check the indicator light.
- Paper not feeding correctly: Ensure the paper is loaded flat and correctly aligned with the size guides. If the paper is not positioned flat, open the paper tray to adjust its placement before proceeding with printing.
- Poor print quality: Check if the thermal paper is loaded correctly (printing side up). Clean the print head as described in Section 5.1. Ensure the paper is suitable for thermal printing.
- Bluetooth connection issues: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the Marklife app is open. Restart both the printer and your device.
- PC driver installation issues: Temporarily disable your antivirus software during driver installation. Ensure you download the correct driver for your operating system.
- Roll paper usage: The printer does not have an internal roll paper bin. If using roll paper, it must be fed from outside the machine.
