1. Product Overview
The DEWIN G2R Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is a PC-level, infrequently used transfer switch designed with a dual power supply system (Primary 'A' and Backup 'B'). It is engineered for AC systems operating at a frequency of 50-60Hz and a rated current of 6A-63A. Its primary function is to automatically switch to the backup power supply (e.g., a generator) within 50 milliseconds when the main power supply fails, ensuring continuous operation and mitigating disruptions caused by power outages.
Key Features:
- Robust Construction: Features a flame-retardant casing for enhanced safety and durability.
- Rapid Switching: Utilizes magnetically excited electromagnets for millisecond-level conversion, with a switching time of less than 50ms.
- Clear Indication: Equipped with indicator lights for common power supply (IU), standby power (IIU), and load power (Load ON) to clearly display the switch status.
- Compact and Modular Design: Designed for 35mm DIN rail installation, making it suitable for household distribution boxes. Features same-side incoming lines for convenient wiring and a total weight of less than 0.4KG.
- Arc Extinguishing System: Includes an arc extinguishing system to quickly cool and extinguish electrical arcs, further enhancing safety.

3. Installation and Setup
3.1 Environmental Requirements:
- Operating Temperature: -5°C to +40°C (average temperature within 24 hours should be lower than +35°C).
- Storage Temperature: -25°C to +55°C (can reach +70°C for short periods, within 24 hours).
- Altitude: Installation location should be below 2000 meters.
- Humidity: At +40°C, higher relative humidity is acceptable. If the wettest month is +20°C, the maximum monthly average relative humidity can reach 90%. Take appropriate measures to prevent condensation.
- Pollution Level: Level 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution due to condensation).
3.2 Mounting:
The G2R-63 ATS features a compact structure designed for direct installation in standard distribution boxes. It supports 35mm DIN rail mounting, ensuring easy and efficient installation.
3.3 Wiring:
The device features convenient, rust-proof terminals and same-side incoming lines for straightforward wiring. Ensure all connections are secure and follow local electrical codes.
NOTE: The input power supply must be connected in the correct phase sequence.
4. Operation
The G2R-63 ATS offers both automatic and manual operation modes, controlled by a selector lever on the front panel.
4.1 Automatic Mode:
In 'Auto' mode, the switch continuously monitors the primary power supply. If the primary power fails, the ATS will automatically detect the outage and switch to the backup power supply within 50 milliseconds. Once the primary power is restored, the switch will automatically revert to the primary source.
NOTE: The operating handle cannot be manually pushed when the switch is in automatic mode.
4.2 Manual Mode:
To manually switch between power sources, move the selector lever to the 'Manual' position. You can then use the operating handle to physically switch between the 'Normal power' and 'Generator' (backup power) inputs as needed.
4.3 Indicator Lights:
- IU (Common Power Supply Indicator): Illuminates when the primary power source is active.
- IIU (Standby Power Indicator): Illuminates when the backup power source (e.g., generator) is active.
- Load ON (Load Power Indicator): Illuminates when power is being supplied to the load.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your DEWIN G2R ATS. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the switch for any signs of physical damage, loose connections, or discoloration.
- Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Terminal Check: Ensure all wiring terminals remain tight and secure. Loose connections can lead to overheating and malfunction.
- Environmental Conditions: Verify that the operating environment continues to meet the specified temperature and humidity requirements to prevent premature wear or failure.
WARNING: All maintenance and inspection should be performed by qualified personnel only.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your G2R-63 ATS, consider the following common problems and solutions:
- Switch Fails to Transfer:
- Check if the switch is in 'Auto' mode. If in 'Manual' mode, it will not transfer automatically.
- Verify that both primary and backup power sources are functioning correctly and within the specified voltage range (±10%).
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correctly phased.
- No Indicator Lights:
- Check the power supply to the ATS.
- Ensure the voltage is not too low.
Important Notes:
- This device is not suitable for use in solar photovoltaic or similar DC-based applications.
- The voltage must be maintained within ±10% of the rated working voltage for optimal performance.
