8. Troubleshooting
Q&A: Common Issues and Solutions
- Q: Why is the time displayed on screen incorrect?
- A: The default time area is GMT+8. Please sync the camera with your phone's time or select your local time zone and save. Ensure your mobile phone uses a 24-hour format. Time differences can cause video file errors.
- Q: Too many useless motion detection alerts?
- A: There are two ways to adjust this:
- Turn on Humanoid Alarm, which is triggered only by human shapes.
- Set a specific motion detection area and adjust the motion sensitivity level in the app settings.
- Q: Why are there no recordings when events happen?
- A: Check your recording method settings. There are three options:
- Recording schedule;
- Motion detection recording;
- Both at the same time.
- Q: I have a dual-band router (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Will this camera work?
- A: First, confirm if your camera supports 2.4GHz only or both 2.4GHz & 5GHz. If it only supports 2.4GHz, connect to the 2.4GHz WiFi signal. If it supports both, you can connect to either signal. However, if a 2.4GHz-only camera is connected to a 5GHz network, it may go offline if the LAN cable is unplugged from the WiFi router.
- Q: I changed my router and cannot connect the camera.
- A: Make sure the new router's network name (SSID) and password are the same as your old router. The camera should then connect automatically.
9. User Tips
- For optimal motion detection, fine-tune the sensitivity and define specific detection zones within the app to minimize false alarms.
- Always ensure your camera's internal clock is synchronized with your phone to prevent discrepancies in video timestamps.
- If using AP mode, remember to disable the "Restart timer" feature in the app settings. This prevents the camera from automatically restarting once a week, which can affect video recording if no network is connected.
- When installing, consider the angle of the solar panel to maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day for continuous power.
