  • Vehicle Power Off: Before disassembling, assembling, or debugging this product, ensure the vehicle engine is turned off, the car key is removed, and the vehicle is completely powered off. This prevents short circuits, electric shocks, and damage to the Android head unit, original car wiring harness, and the product itself.
  • No Installation While Driving: It is strictly forbidden to disassemble, assemble, plug, or debug this product while the vehicle is in motion. This can lead to distracted driving, traffic accidents, and endanger personal and property safety.
  • On-board Use Only: This product is designed exclusively for on-board use. Store it away from fire sources, high-temperature areas (e.g., near the engine compartment or exhaust pipe), humid environments, oil stains, and corrosive liquids (e.g., gasoline, antifreeze) to prevent wire aging, short circuits, and fires.
  • No Unauthorized Modification: Do not privately disassemble, modify, squeeze, or violently pull this product. Such actions can damage the internal circuit structure, leading to faults like short circuits, electric leakage, or fires. Non-professional personnel should avoid forcibly plugging or unplugging interfaces to prevent bending or breaking of pins.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Preparation

  1. Park the vehicle in a flat and safe area.
  2. Pull the handbrake, turn off the engine, and remove the car key to ensure the vehicle is completely powered off.
  3. Prepare the RZ-JP70 video decoder, the aftermarket Android head unit, and necessary disassembly tools (e.g., pry plate, screwdriver) suitable for your vehicle model.
  4. Verify that the model of this product matches your vehicle model and Android head unit model.
  5. Inspect the appearance and wires of the product for any abnormalities such as damage, breakage, or bent pins before proceeding.

4.2. Removing the Original Car Head Unit

  1. Gently pry open the original car head unit panel using a pry plate. Exercise caution to avoid scratching the panel surface and vehicle interior.
  2. Carefully remove the panel and store it properly to prevent loss or damage.
  3. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screws securing the original car head unit.
  4. Gently pull out the original car head unit with both hands, being careful not to forcefully pull the original car wiring harness to avoid wire breakage.
  5. Disconnect all wiring harness plugs from behind the original car head unit. Remember the position of each plug for re-connection.
  6. Place the original car head unit properly to avoid collision and damage.

4.3. Connecting the Adapter

The RZ-JP70 adapter connects the original car camera's LVDS signal to the aftermarket Android head unit's CVBS/AHD input. This process does not require cutting any car cables.

  • 18-pin Connector: Connect the 18-pin connector of the RZ-JP70 video decoder to the corresponding harness.
  • CVBS OUT: Connect the CVBS OUT cable from the decoder to the camera input of your Android head unit.
  • Ground Wire: Connect the ground wire securely.
  • 5-pin Harness: Connect the 5-pin harness as follows: Black line to GND, Yellow line to BATT+12V, Red line to ACC, Pink line to REV-IN, Green Line to RXD.

Important Note:

If the original car is equipped with a 360-degree camera system, the RAISE G-RZ-JP55 decoder is also required in conjunction with the RZ-JP70 for proper functionality.

  1. Connect the 10-pin rear camera video cable to the Android Head unit.
  2. Locate the "CAM IN" connector of the wiring harness and insert it into the yellow connector of the rear camera video cable.

Note: The 10-pin rear camera video cable is configured in the Android Head unit, and this harness connector is not configured with a 10-pin rear camera video cable.

4.4. Final Installation and Testing

  1. Align the "original car end plug" of this product with the reserved wiring harness plug of the original car one by one, inserting it gently until the plug buckle is completely in place without looseness or skew.
  2. Connect the "Android head unit end interface" of this product to the corresponding interface behind the aftermarket Android head unit, ensuring all interfaces are firmly connected.
  3. For adapters with a CANBUS decoder, ensure the CANBUS interface is connected correctly to avoid affecting original vehicle functions (e.g., air conditioning, instrument display).
  4. Organize and fix the wires of this product and the original car wiring harness with cable ties (optional) to prevent entanglement and looseness. Leave sufficient activity space to prevent pulling or compression of wires during head unit installation.
  5. Gently push the Android head unit, connected with the adapter, into the original car head unit installation position.
  6. Align with the screw holes and tighten the fixing screws to ensure the head unit is firmly installed without looseness or abnormal noise.
  7. Reinstall the original car panel, gently pressing its edge to ensure it fits closely with the vehicle interior.
  8. Insert the car key, turn on the vehicle power supply (no need to start the engine), and turn on the Android head unit.
  9. Set the relevant parameters in the Android head unit. For cable adapters with a CANBUS decoder, configure the CANBUS settings in the Android head unit.
  10. Test all functions, including navigation, music playback, radio, reverse image, and Bluetooth connection. Confirm all functions are normal, with no noise and no signal interruption.

5. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and tested, the Pinmany RZ-JP70 decoder operates automatically to convert the LVDS signal from your original car camera to a compatible CVBS/AHD signal for your aftermarket Android head unit. The functionality of your camera system will then be accessible directly through your Android head unit's interface.

Functionality Test

As part of the installation process, it is crucial to test all integrated functions to ensure correct operation:

  • Navigation: Verify that the navigation system on your Android head unit functions correctly.
  • Music Playback: Test audio playback from various sources.
  • Radio: Check radio reception and functionality.
  • Reverse Image: Engage reverse gear to confirm the camera feed is displayed clearly and correctly on the Android head unit.
  • Bluetooth Connection: Test Bluetooth pairing and functionality with your devices.

If all functions operate normally without noise or signal interruption, the decoder is correctly installed and ready for use.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your RZ-JP70 video decoder.

  • Gentle Handling: During installation or any handling, plug and unplug connectors gently. Avoid pulling or twisting wires violently to prevent wire core breakage and interface damage.
  • Wire Management: When organizing wires, ensure they do not come into contact with sharp edges or high-temperature parts of the vehicle (e.g., engine, exhaust pipe) to prevent wear, aging, and short circuits.
  • Cleaning: Do not spray or soak the product with water, alcohol, cleaning agents, or other liquids. To clean the surface, gently wipe it with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid liquid entering the interface to prevent short circuits.
  • Storage: When storing the product, place it in a dry, ventilated, and cool environment, away from high temperatures, humidity, magnetic fields, and corrosive substances.
  • Long-term Disconnection: If the vehicle will not be used for a long time (more than 15 days), it is recommended to disconnect the connection between this product and the Android head unit to prevent vehicle battery drain or equipment damage.
