3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the generator from its packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present.

3.2 Adding Engine Oil

Your generator is shipped without engine oil. Before first use, add the recommended oil:

  • Recommended Oil: SAE 10W-30.
  • For colder climates, 5W-30 oil is recommended.
  • Refer to the "Specifications" section for oil capacity.
  • Do not overfill.

3.3 Adding Fuel

Use clean, unleaded gasoline with a minimum 87 octane / 87 AKI (91 RON).

  • Do not use E85 or any other fuel containing more than 10% ethanol.
  • Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened after filling.

3.4 Break-in Period

The first five hours of operation are considered the break-in period. During this time:

  • Avoid applying heavy electrical loads to the generator.
  • Operate the generator at varying loads, but do not exceed 50% of its rated capacity for extended periods.
  • Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation.

3.5 Placement

Place the equipment on a level surface away from doors, windows, and vents to ensure proper ventilation and prevent carbon monoxide buildup. Always operate outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Generator

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and has sufficient oil and fuel.
  2. Turn the Multi-Switch to the "START" position.
  3. Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
  4. Once started, move the Multi-Switch to the "RUN" position.

4.2 Connecting Electrical Devices

To ensure the generator can power all devices efficiently, we recommend connecting higher-power devices first.

4.3 Eco-Mode Operation

The Eco-Mode feature allows the generator to adjust engine speed to match the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise. To activate:

  • Toggle "Low Idle" to "on" after loads less than 50%. This reduces engine speeds to maximize fuel economy.

4.4 Parallel Operation

You can connect two AIVOLT VS4350101 inverter generators to combine power or double the run time using a 120V ANSI/PGMA G300-2018 standard APV24080 parallel kit (sold separately). AIVOLT's kit is highly recommended.

  • Important: Never connect or disconnect the parallel cord leads while either generator is running.

  • Change engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation (break-in period).
  • Subsequent oil changes should be performed according to the maintenance schedule in the full owner's manual.

6.2 Fuel System

  • Always use fresh, clean gasoline.
  • If storing the generator for an extended period, drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.

6.3 General Cleaning

  • Keep the generator clean and free of debris.
  • Ensure cooling vents are not obstructed.

For a detailed maintenance schedule and procedures, please consult the comprehensive owner's manual.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your generator.

7.1 Generator Not Starting

  • Check fuel level: Ensure there is enough gasoline in the tank.
  • Check oil level: Ensure the engine oil is at the correct level. The generator has a low-oil shutdown feature.
  • Multi-Switch position: Confirm the Multi-Switch is in the "START" position for starting, then "RUN" for operation.
  • Spark plug: Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage.

7.2 No Power Output

  • AC/DC Breakers: Check if any AC or DC breakers have tripped. Reset if necessary.
  • Overload: Reduce the connected load. The generator may have shut down due to an overload.
  • Eco-Mode: Ensure Eco-Mode is not causing reduced output if high power is needed.

7.3 CO Alert Indicator

  • If the CO Alert indicator activates, immediately move the generator to a well-ventilated outdoor area.
  • Ensure proper distance from occupied spaces.

For more complex issues, refer to the full owner's manual or contact customer support.
