5. Installation

Before proceeding with installation, ensure the main power supply to the heating system is turned off at the circuit breaker.

5.1 Wiring Diagram

Wiring Connections:

  1. Terminals 1 & 2 (L, N): Connect to the 220V AC power supply (Live and Neutral).
  2. Terminals 3 & 4 (N1, L1): Connect to the electric heating load (e.g., heating mat, film).
  3. Terminals 5, 6, 7 (Sensor): Connect the external NTC temperature sensor cable. Ensure correct polarity if specified by the sensor.

5.2 Physical Installation

  1. Prepare the Wall Box: The thermostat is designed to fit a standard wall-mounted electrical box.
  2. Connect Wiring: Following the wiring diagram (Figure 5.1), connect the power supply, heating load, and sensor cable to the appropriate terminals on the back of the thermostat. Ensure all connections are secure.
  3. Mount the Thermostat: Gently push the thermostat into the wall box. Secure it using the two provided screws.
  4. Attach the Front Panel: Snap the front panel onto the mounted base.
  5. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are checked, restore power at the circuit breaker.

6. Operating Instructions

The ME5516 thermostat can be operated via its touch buttons or, for WiFi models, through a mobile application.

6.1 Initial Power On

After restoring power, the thermostat display will light up. It will typically show the current room temperature and the default set temperature.

6.2 Setting Temperature (Manual Mode)

  1. If in programming mode, press the Menu button to switch to Manual Mode (indicated by the 'Manuell Modus' icon).
  2. Use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to adjust the desired target temperature. The display will show the new set temperature.
  3. The thermostat will automatically maintain the set temperature.

6.3 Programmable Mode (Weekly Schedule)

The thermostat supports weekly programming, allowing you to set different temperatures for various times of the day across the week.

  1. Press the Menu button repeatedly until the 'Programmiermodus' icon appears.
