1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the ZM-BL2210F and ZM-7210A Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Drivers. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure safe and efficient operation.
2. Safety Precautions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the equipment:
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before any wiring or maintenance.
- Verify all connections are correct and secure before applying power.
- Do not operate the driver in environments with excessive moisture, dust, or corrosive gases.
- Only qualified personnel should perform installation and maintenance.
- The driver can generate high temperatures during operation; avoid touching it directly.
- Refer to the wiring diagrams carefully for proper connection.
3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully unpack the driver and inspect it for any signs of damage. Ensure all components are present.
3.2 Mounting
Mount the driver in a well-ventilated area, preferably on a metal surface to aid heat dissipation. Ensure adequate clearance around the unit for airflow.
3.3 Wiring
Refer to the specific wiring diagrams for your model (ZM-BL2210F or ZM-7210A) for correct connections. Incorrect wiring can damage the driver and motor.

Figure 1: ZM-BL2210F Driver Overview and Terminal Labels. This image shows the ZM-BL2210F model with its cooling fins, fan, and clearly labeled terminals for TTL, Motor (U, V, W), and AC power (AC1, AC2). It also indicates input voltage (AC80-220V), input current (0-10A), maximum power (2200W), and speed range (100-10000rpm).

Figure 2: ZM-7210A Wiring Diagram. This diagram illustrates the connections for the ZM-7210A model. It shows connections for TTL signals (V+, VSP, PIC, DIR, EN, GND1), Hall sensors (HU, HV, HW, GND2), Motor (U, V, W), and AC power (AC80-220V). Key instructions are provided in Chinese, indicating connections for start/stop, Hall sensors (red, green, blue, black, yellow), and power lines. It also notes that DR and V- are shorted for motor reversal, and provides a table for V+, Ve, FG, DIR, EN, V- terminals (1-6).
3.3.1 Power Connection
- Connect the AC power supply (AC80-220V) to the AC1 and AC2 terminals.
- For ZM-7210A, the input voltage range is L/N: 60V-220V.
3.3.2 Motor Connection
- Connect the motor phases (U, V, W) to the corresponding terminals on the driver.
- Connect the Hall sensor wires (HU, HV, HW, GND2) to the designated Hall sensor terminals.
3.3.3 Control Signal Connection (TTL)
The TTL interface provides control signals for various functions:
- V+: Power supply for control signals.
- VSP: Speed control input.
- PIC: (Specific function not detailed in images, assume general control input)
- DIR: Direction control input.
- EN: Enable/Disable input.
- GND1: Ground for control signals.
For ZM-7210A, connecting EN enables motor operation. Shorting DR and V- reverses the motor direction. Terminals 4 and 6 are for one direction, and 5 and 6 for another.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On
After ensuring all connections are correct and secure, apply power to the driver. The green LED (POWER) should illuminate, indicating the driver is powered on.
4.2 Speed Control
Adjust the motor speed using the VSP input signal. Refer to your motor's specifications for appropriate voltage ranges for speed control.
4.3 Direction Control
Use the DIR input to control the motor's rotation direction. For ZM-7210A, shorting DR and V- will reverse the motor.
4.4 Enable/Disable
The EN input can be used to enable or disable motor operation. For ZM-7210A, connecting EN will start the motor.
4.5 Status Indicators
- Green LED (POWER): Indicates power is supplied to the driver.
- Red LED (ALARM): Indicates an error or fault condition. Refer to the Troubleshooting section if this LED illuminates.
5. Maintenance
- Keep the driver clean and free from dust and debris.
- Ensure the cooling fan (if present) is unobstructed and functioning correctly.
- Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the driver yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for repairs.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor does not run | No power, incorrect wiring, EN signal not active, motor fault. | Check power supply, verify all wiring, ensure EN is connected/active, check motor for issues. |
| Red ALARM LED is on | Overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, Hall sensor error, motor stall. | Check power supply voltage, motor load, Hall sensor connections. Power cycle the driver. |
| Motor runs erratically or vibrates | Incorrect Hall sensor wiring, motor phase wiring error, poor control signal. | Verify Hall sensor and motor phase connections. Check control signal quality. |
| Driver overheats | Insufficient ventilation, excessive load, faulty fan. | Ensure proper airflow, reduce motor load, check cooling fan operation. |
