3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Wearing the Scanner
For hands-free operation, attach the scanner to the provided wearable glove. The scanner unit slides into a holder on the back of the hand, and the trigger button aligns with your index finger.

3.2 Scanning Barcodes
The MJ-R80 offers two primary scanning methods:
- Using the Glove Trigger: When the scanner is installed on the glove, press the button located on the index finger area of the glove to initiate a scan.
- Using the Scanner's Built-in Button: If the scanner is removed from the glove, you can directly press the button on the scanner unit itself to scan.

The scanner supports various 1D and 2D barcode types, including QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF417, EAN, UPC, Code 39, Code 128, and more.
3.3 Working Modes
The MJ-R80 operates in two distinct working modes:
- Instant Upload Mode: In this mode, scanned barcode data is immediately transmitted to the connected host device. This is ideal for real-time inventory management or point-of-sale operations.
- Offline Storage Mode: This mode allows the scanner to store barcode data internally. It can store more than 50,000 codes. After scanning, the data can be uploaded to your computer or POS machine at a later time. This is useful for batch processing or when working out of range of a host device.

3.4 Prompt Modes
The scanner provides feedback through:
- Indicator light
- Buzzer
- Vibrator (optional)
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the scanner.
- For the scanning window, use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Ensure no liquid enters the scanner's housing.
4.2 Storage
- Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prolong its lifespan.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Scanner Not Responding
- Check if the scanner is powered on and the battery has sufficient charge.
- Verify the connection:
- For wired connection, ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the host device.
- For 2.4G wireless, ensure the receiver is plugged in and the scanner is within range.
- For Bluetooth, ensure the scanner is paired and connected to the host device, and within Bluetooth range.
- Restart the scanner and the host device.
5.2 Barcodes Not Scanning
- Ensure the barcode is clean, undamaged, and clearly visible.
- Check the distance and angle between the scanner and the barcode.
- Verify that the barcode type is supported by the MJ-R80 (refer to Specifications).
- Clean the scanner's optical window if it appears dirty.
- Ensure the scanner is in the correct working mode (Instant Upload or Offline Storage).
5.3 Data Transmission Issues
- For wireless connections, ensure the scanner is within the effective transmission range and there are no significant obstructions.
- Check for interference from other wireless devices.
- If using Offline Storage Mode, ensure you have initiated the data upload process to your host device.
