1. Product Overview

The Holyhah 2D Wired Wireless Barcode Scanner is a versatile and efficient tool designed for various scanning environments, including supermarkets, express logistics, and warehousing. It supports multiple connection modes and can read a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes, including QR codes and Data Matrix codes.

This scanner offers three connection options: USB wired, 2.4G wireless, and Bluetooth, ensuring broad compatibility with various devices and operating systems.

2. Setup and Connection

The Holyhah 2D scanner supports three primary connection methods to suit your operational needs.

2.1. USB Wired Connection

  1. Connect the scanner to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  2. The computer will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.
  3. Once installed, the scanner is ready for use.

2.2. 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Plug the 2.4G USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer or device.
  2. The scanner and receiver should automatically pair. No additional driver installation is typically required.
  3. The 2.4G wireless mode offers a transmission range of up to 30m (99ft) with obstacles and up to 100m (330ft) in a barrier-free environment.

2.3. Bluetooth Connection

  1. Ensure the scanner is in Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to the scanner's indicator lights for status).
  2. On your device (PC, laptop, iPad, phone), navigate to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
  3. Select the Holyhah scanner from the list to pair. The scanner features memory functions and will attempt to automatically reconnect to previously paired devices.
  4. Bluetooth connectivity provides a transmission range of up to 10m (33ft) with obstacles and up to 50m (164ft) in a barrier-free environment.

2.4. System and Device Compatibility

The scanner is widely compatible with various devices and operating systems:

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Basic Scanning

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on and connected to your device via your preferred method (USB, 2.4G, or Bluetooth).
  2. Point the scanner's light beam at the barcode you wish to scan.
  3. Press the trigger button. A successful scan will typically be indicated by a beep and/or a change in the indicator light.
  4. The scanned data will appear in the active application on your connected device.

3.2. Supported Barcode Types

The Holyhah scanner is capable of reading a variety of 1D and 2D barcodes:

  • 1D Barcodes: EAN-8, EAN-13, EAN-13 2 add-on, EAN-13 5 add-on, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5.
  • 2D Barcodes: PDF417, Data Matrix, QR-code, Aztec Code, Micro PDF417.

3.3. Data Upload Modes

The scanner offers two convenient data upload modes:

  • Instant Upload Mode: Scanned data is immediately transmitted to the connected device. Ideal for real-time inventory management or point-of-sale operations.
  • Storage Mode: Scanned data is stored internally in the scanner's memory. This mode is useful for batch scanning or when working out of range of a connected device. Data can be uploaded later when a connection is established.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery Care

The scanner is equipped with an 1800mAh rechargeable battery.

  • Charging: A full charge takes approximately 3.5 hours.
  • Usage: Provides up to 8 hours of continuous scanning time.
  • Standby: Offers an impressive 720 hours of standby time.
  • To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and fully discharge and recharge the battery periodically.

4.2. Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the scanner's exterior.
  • For the scanning window, use a lens cleaning cloth and a mild cleaning solution if necessary. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

4.3. Storage

  • Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) to prevent deep discharge.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1. Scanner Not Responding

  • Check Power: Ensure the scanner is charged and powered on.
  • Check Connection: Verify the USB cable is securely connected, the 2.4G receiver is plugged in, or Bluetooth is properly paired.
  • Restart: Try restarting the scanner and your connected device.

5.2. Unable to Scan Barcodes

  • Barcode Type: Confirm that the barcode type is supported by the scanner (refer to Section 3.2).
  • Barcode Quality: Ensure the barcode is clear, not damaged, smudged, or poorly printed.
  • Scanning Angle/Distance: Adjust the angle and distance between the scanner and the barcode.
  • Lighting: Ensure adequate lighting, but avoid direct glare on the barcode.

5.3. Data Transmission Issues

  • Wireless Interference: Move away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference (e.g., microwaves, other wireless devices).
  • Range: Ensure the scanner is within the effective transmission range for Bluetooth or 2.4G wireless modes.
  • Driver/Software: For wired connections, ensure drivers are correctly installed. For wireless, check if the receiving software on your device is active.
