4.1 Physical Installation

The ASECAM PTZ IP Camera can be installed in various locations, including ceiling, embedded, side, normal, wall-mounted, pendant mount, vertical pole mount, or corner mount. Choose a location that provides the best viewing angle and is within reach of power and network connections.

  1. Mounting: Use the provided wall bracket and screws to securely mount the camera to your chosen surface. Ensure the mounting surface can support the camera's weight.
  2. Weatherproofing: For outdoor installations, utilize the waterproof connector to protect network cables from moisture. The camera has an IP67 weatherproof rating, making it suitable for various climates.

4.2 Power and Network Connection

The camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) or a DC 12V power supply.

  • PoE (802.3af, max. 10W): Connect a single Ethernet cable from a PoE-enabled NVR or PoE switch directly to the camera. This cable will provide both power and data transmission.
  • DC 12V (±25%, 0.75A, max. 9W): If not using PoE, connect a standard DC 12V power adapter (not included) to the camera's power input and an Ethernet cable to your router or network switch.

7. Troubleshooting

Q: Why can't I open the default IP address 192.168.0.123 via web browser?
A: The camera works in DHCP mode by default and obtains IP settings from the router automatically. Install the IP search tool to find the camera's actual IP address. The IP address will only be 192.168.0.123 if there is no router in the LAN.
Q: How to reset the password?
A: The default Username is admin and Password is 123456. If you lost the password or wish to reset camera settings, use the IP search tool to find the camera IP and click the 'Reset factory' button.
Q: How to upgrade the IP camera?
A: Obtain the suitable firmware from the supplier. You can use a web browser, search tool, or PC client to upgrade. Navigate to Configuration > System > Update, browse for the firmware file, and click 'Upgrade'. Wait for the process to complete.
Q: How to fetch the RTSP video stream and HTTP snapshot?
A:
  • VLC test Main Stream: rtsp://admin:123456@IP:554/stream0
  • VLC test Sub Stream: rtsp://admin:123456@IP:554/stream1
  • Low resolution snapshot: http://IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?stream=1
  • HD snapshot: http://IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?stream=0 (some models support)
Q: Why does the NVR not show an image after adding the IP camera?
A:
  • Ensure you selected the correct protocol and entered the correct username and password when adding cameras.
  • Verify that the NVR and IP camera are on the same IP subnet (e.g., NVR: 192.168.1.x, IP camera: 192.168.1.y).
  • If the NVR does not support H.265, try changing the camera's encode mode to H.264 (Configuration -> Camera -> Video > Encode mode: H.264).
Q: How to make the NVR record in motion detection mode?
A:
  • Add the IP camera via ONVIF protocol.
  • Change the NVR record mode to Motion Detection mode.
  • Check the NVR screen for the MD icon and attempt playback. Refer to your NVR manual for specific motion record options.

8. User Tips

  • Password Security: Always change the default password immediately after initial setup to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Network Compatibility: For seamless integration with an NVR, ensure both the camera and NVR are on the same network subnet.
  • Optimal Zoom: Utilize the 30X zoom feature to capture fine details from a distance, enhancing surveillance effectiveness.
  • AI Detection: Configure AI Human and Vehicle Detection settings to minimize false alarms and focus on relevant events.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check camera feed and recordings to ensure proper functioning and adjust settings as needed.
