4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Awithz P120D spot welder:

  1. **Unpacking:** Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. **Placement:** Place the main unit on a stable, flat, and non-flammable surface in a well-ventilated area.
  3. **Connect Welding Pens:** Insert the two spot welding pens into the "P-" and "P+" terminals on the front panel of the main unit. Ensure they are securely connected.
  4. **Connect Foot Pedal:** Plug the foot pedal into the "Trigger Interface" port on the front panel.
  5. **Power Connection:** Connect the AC power cord to the power input on the rear of the unit, then plug the other end into a suitable 100-240V AC 50-60Hz power outlet.
  6. **Initial Inspection:** Before powering on, visually inspect all connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.

5. Operating Instructions

The Awithz P120D offers precise control over welding parameters via its adjustable LED screen. Familiarize yourself with the controls and settings before beginning any welding task.

5.1. Controls and Display:

  • **LED Screen:** Displays current settings and status.
  • **Power On/Off Button:** Located on the front panel.
  • **Switch Key:** Used to navigate between settings on the display.
  • **Adjustment Key:** Used to modify selected parameter values.
  • **P- / P+ Terminals:** Connect the spot welding pens.
  • **Trigger Interface:** Connect the foot pedal for activation.

5.2. Setting Welding Parameters:

Use the Switch and Adjustment keys to configure the following settings on the LED screen:

  • **Welding Method:** Choose between Manual or Automatic.
  • **Preheat:** Adjust preheating time from 0 to 5ms.
  • **Intermittence:** Set the interval between welds from 1 to 20ms.
  • **Gear Position:** Fine-tune power levels from 000 to 999.
  • **Trigger Time:** Adjust the welding trigger duration from 0.5 to 5.0s.
  • **Connect the Dots:** Set the number of weld pulses from 1 to 3 times.

5.3. Welding Procedure:

  1. **Prepare Materials:** Ensure the materials to be welded are clean, dry, and free from rust or contaminants.
  2. **Select Settings:** Based on the material type and thickness, adjust the welding parameters (Gear Position, Preheat, Intermittence, etc.) on the LED screen. Refer to the specifications section for material compatibility.
  3. **Position Workpiece:** Place the materials to be welded securely. For battery welding, use the 18650 fixture if applicable.
  4. **Perform Weld:**
    • Hold the welding pens firmly, ensuring good contact with both materials at the desired weld point.
    • Press the foot pedal to initiate the weld. The machine will execute the weld according to the set parameters.
    • Release the foot pedal after the weld is complete.
  5. **Inspect Weld:** Visually inspect the weld for strength and quality. Adjust parameters as needed for optimal results.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your spot welder.

  • **Welding Pen Care:**
    • Inspect welding needles regularly for wear and tear.
    • Replace worn-out welding needles promptly to maintain welding quality. The pens feature replaceable soldering pins for easy disassembly and replacement.
    • Ensure the insulated tip wrapping is intact for safety and comfort.
  • **Cleaning:**
    • Keep the main unit and welding pens clean and free from dust, debris, and metal splatter.
    • Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • **Storage:** Store the spot welder in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Awithz P120D spot welder, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
