The FREEWOLF K100 is a versatile mechanical keyboard designed for both office and gaming use, featuring a quiet typing experience, customizable RGB backlighting, and multi-device connectivity. It boasts a durable design with PBT side-print keycaps and a long-lasting 4000mAh battery. This manual will guide you through its features and functionalities.

Setup

Unpacking

Carefully remove the keyboard and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present: FREEWOLF K100 keyboard, USB-C cable, and 2.4G wireless receiver.

Connectivity Options

The K100 keyboard supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Wired. It is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.

2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Insert the dedicated 2.4G wireless receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Switch the three-position switch on the keyboard to the far right (2.4G mode).
  3. To enter forced code matching mode, press and hold the combination key (usually Fn+U) for 3 seconds. The indicator light (M-LED) will flash rapidly (green light).
  4. If the code matching is successful, the indicator light M-LED will turn green and then go out. The reconnection time is 20 seconds, and the pairing time is 20 seconds. If it exceeds the time limit, it will enter sleep mode.

Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

  1. Turn the keyboard mode switch to the position of the Bluetooth icon (middle position).
  2. Long press the key combination of Fn+2@/Fn+3#/Fn+4$ to pair with the Bluetooth broadcast function.
  3. Fn+2@ key: Bluetooth name: K100-BT1. Long press the combination function key to code Bluetooth, short press to switch Bluetooth channels.
  4. Fn+3# key: Bluetooth name: K100-BT2. Long press the combination function key to code Bluetooth, short press to switch Bluetooth channels.
  5. Fn+4$ key: Bluetooth name: K100-BT3. Long press the combination function key to code Bluetooth, short press to switch Bluetooth channels.

Wired Connection

  1. Insert the USB-C connection cable into the keyboard's Type-C interface.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer's USB port.
  3. Switch the three-position switch on the keyboard to the middle (USB mode). The keyboard can then be used normally.
  4. Hint: In wired mode, the M-DEL light will show white when the battery is fully charged.

Charging the Battery

The K100 keyboard is equipped with a 4000mAh lithium battery. To charge, connect the keyboard via the USB-C cable to a power source (e.g., computer USB port or USB wall adapter). The M-DEL indicator light will turn white when the battery is fully charged in wired mode.

Basic Key Functions

The K100 features a standard 99-key layout. All keys function as labeled for typing and general computer use.

Multimedia Control Knob

The multifunctional knob located on the keyboard allows for quick adjustments:

  • Rotate: Adjust volume levels.
  • Press: Mute/unmute audio.
  • The knob can also be used to adjust lighting parameters.

  • Fn+INS: Switch between backlight modes and VR knob definitions. Default modes include Drifting, Constant-on, Breathing, Snake, Neon Gradient, Flowing Light, Stars, Flashing, Seven-Color Neon, Back-and-forth Trailing, Unidirectional Trailing, Bidirectional Trailing, Opposite Trailing, and Lights Off.
  • Fn+DEL: Switch single-color lighting (red, green, blue, purple, yellow, cyan, white, and mixed colors).
  • Fn+Backspace: Toggle backlight on/off.
  • Fn+PGUP: Increase backlight brightness (6-level brightness adjustment).
  • Fn+PGDN: Decrease backlight brightness (6-level brightness adjustment).
  • Fn+ "-" / Fn+ "=": Adjust breathing rate and running speed (5 adjustable levels). The indicator light flashes three times as a prompt.

26-Key Anti-Ghosting

The K100 supports 26-key rollover, ensuring that multiple key presses are registered accurately, which is beneficial for fast typing and gaming. This covers commonly used function keys for efficiency.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • To clean the keyboard, disconnect it from your computer.

  • For deeper cleaning, you may use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the keycaps or finish.

Battery Care

  • To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the keyboard frequently.
  • Charge the keyboard regularly, especially if it will be stored for an extended period.
  • Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Connectivity Issues

  • 2.4G Wireless: Ensure the 2.4G receiver is securely plugged into a USB port and the keyboard is in 2.4G mode. Try re-pairing if connection is lost (refer to 2.4G Wireless Connection steps).

  • If RGB lighting is not working, ensure it hasn't been turned off (Fn+Backspace).
  • Adjust brightness using Fn+PGUP/PGDN.
  • Cycle through lighting modes using Fn+INS to see if it resolves the issue.

Keys Not Responding

  • Ensure the keyboard is properly connected in your chosen mode.
  • Check for low battery if using wireless modes.
  • If specific keys are unresponsive, try cleaning around them to remove any debris.

Battery Not Charging

  • Verify the USB-C cable is fully inserted into both the keyboard and the power source.
  • Try a different USB-C cable or power adapter.
