Important Notes for Hard Drive Power:

  • The backplane has 4 sets of power supply interfaces (PATA*2 + SATA*2).
  • For ordinary household mechanical hard drives (SATA/SAS) with a starting current of approximately 1A-2.5A, connecting 3 sets of power supplies is usually sufficient.
  • For enterprise-grade hard drives, due to their higher starting current, it is recommended to fully plug in all 4 sets of power supplies. Always refer to the specific brand parameters for power supply and hard drive actual power consumption. Insufficient current may prevent the hard drive from starting.
  • Only one power interface (ATX-4Pin or SATA) is allowed per power supply line to be inserted into the backplane. Do not insert multiple power plugs from a single power supply line into the backplane simultaneously.

Ensure a minimum 5mm gap between hard drives of different thicknesses to enhance ventilation efficiency and ensure a long service life.

3.4 Graphics Card Installation

The N6 chassis supports graphics cards up to 320mm in length.

  • When installing a 25mm thick fan on the front panel, the maximum GPU length is 305mm.
  • When using a 55mm thick water cooling radiator on the front panel, the maximum GPU length is 275mm.

3.5 Cooling System Installation

The N6 provides extensive cooling options:

  • Front Panel: Supports 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans. Also supports 240mm water cooling.
  • Rear Panel: Supports 1 x 120mm fan.
  • Left Side: Supports 2 x 120mm fans.
  • Right Side: Supports 2 x 120mm fans.
  • Hard Drive Compartment: Comes with 2 x 120mm standard double ball fans (1750 ± 10% RPM) for auxiliary hard disk cooling.

The motherboard compartment fan positions are not standard and can be assembled according to specific cooling requirements.

4. Usage

4.1 Front Panel Ports and Controls

The front panel provides convenient access to essential ports and controls:

  • USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (10Gbps) x1: For high-speed data transmission.
  • USB 3.0 x1: Standard USB connectivity.
  • AUDIO x1 + MIC x1 (2-in-1): Combined audio jack for headphones and microphone.
  • Fan Speed Control Switch (FAN 1 2 3): A three-speed fan controller allows for free and quick adjustment of fan speed to manage real-time heat dissipation needs.

5. Maintenance

  • Dust Filters: The chassis is equipped with dust filters on the top and bottom. Regularly clean these filters to maintain optimal airflow and prevent dust buildup inside the case.
  • Fan Cleaning: Periodically inspect and clean all installed fans to ensure efficient cooling.
  • Cable Management: Ensure internal cables are neatly managed to avoid obstructing airflow and to facilitate future maintenance or upgrades.
  • Hard Drive Spacing: Maintain at least a 5mm gap between hard drives to ensure proper ventilation and prolong their lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting

  • System Not Powering On:
    - Check all power connections, including the main power cable, motherboard power, and CPU power. Ensure the power supply is switched on.
    - Verify that the front panel power button cable is correctly connected to the motherboard.
  • Hard Drives Not Detected:
    - Ensure all SATA/SAS data and power cables are securely connected to both the hard drives and the backplane/motherboard.
    - For enterprise-grade hard drives, confirm that all 4 power supply interfaces on the backplane are fully plugged in, as insufficient current can prevent startup.
    - Check that only one power plug per power supply line is inserted into the backplane.
  • Overheating Issues:
    - Verify that all case fans are spinning correctly. Adjust fan speeds using the front panel controller if necessary.
    - Clean dust filters and internal components to improve airflow.
    - Ensure adequate spacing between hard drives for proper ventilation.
  • No Display Output:
    - Confirm that the graphics card is properly seated in its PCI-E slot and that all necessary power connectors are attached.
    - Ensure the monitor cable is securely connected to the graphics card.

7. User Tips

No specific user tips from reviews or Q&A are available at this time. However, general best practices for NAS case users include:

  • Plan Your Build: Due to the compact nature and versatile configurations, plan your component layout (motherboard, PSU, cooling, and drives) carefully before assembly.
  • Cable Management: Good cable management is crucial for airflow and ease of maintenance in a compact chassis.
  • Monitor Temperatures: Especially with multiple hard drives, regularly monitor system and drive temperatures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Utilize Fan Control: Adjust the fan speed controller based on your system's load and temperature to balance cooling performance and noise levels.

8. Warranty and Support
