5. Initial Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the radio is powered off.
- Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
- To remove, slide the battery latch (if present) and slide the battery downwards.
5.2. Charging the Battery
The UV-75 PRO features convenient Type-C USB charging.
- Connect the Type-C USB cable to the charging port on the battery pack.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, laptop).
- During charging, the indicator light on the battery will be RED.
- Once fully charged, the indicator light will turn GREEN.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
Rotate the Volume Knob/Switch clockwise to power on the radio. Continue rotating to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease volume and power off.
6.2. Basic Communication (PTT)
- Ensure the radio is powered on and on the desired channel/frequency.
- Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the radio.
- Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
6.3. Channel/Frequency Selection
Use the Number Pad to directly enter frequencies or channel numbers. Use the MENU, AIO/EXIT, and Select Keys to navigate through channels or adjust settings.
6.4. Dual Band, Dual Display, and Dual Standby
The UV-75 PRO supports dual-band operation, allowing you to monitor two different frequencies (VHF and UHF) simultaneously. The dual display shows both frequencies, and dual standby means the radio can receive on either frequency.
6.5. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
The VOX function allows for hands-free operation. When activated, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, without needing to press the PTT button. Refer to the full user manual for detailed VOX sensitivity settings.
6.6. High/Low Power Switchover
The radio supports switching between high and low power output. High power provides longer range but consumes more battery. Low power conserves battery life for shorter distances. Consult the menu for power adjustment options.

- Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not short-circuit or puncture the battery.
- Antenna: Ensure the antenna is securely attached. Do not operate the radio without an antenna, as this can damage the transmitter.
8. Troubleshooting
- Radio does not power on: Check if the battery is properly installed and charged. Ensure the volume knob is turned clockwise.
- Cannot transmit or receive: Verify that the antenna is attached. Check the selected frequency/channel. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge.
- Low Battery Warning: The radio will indicate a low battery. Recharge the battery promptly to avoid interruption of service.
- Poor audio quality: Check volume settings. Ensure the microphone and speaker are not obstructed. Move to an area with better signal reception.
