5. Operating Modes
The AUTOOL EM355 offers three primary operating modes: Programmable Power Supply, Fast Charging, and Battery Restoration.
5.1. Programmable Power Supply Mode
This mode is crucial for maintaining a stable voltage during sensitive operations like ECU programming and decoding. It ensures accurate data transmission by providing a precisely regulated power source.
- From the main menu, select 'Programmable Power Supply' using the navigation buttons (D, E) and confirm with 'OK' (C).
- Connect the power clamps to the vehicle's battery.
- Choose between 'Adjustable Mode' or 'Fixed Mode'.
- In 'Adjustable Mode', set the desired voltage within the range of 10.8V to 16.0V.
- The device will then provide a stable voltage source for your programming tasks.

5.2. Fast Charging Mode
This mode intelligently adjusts voltage and current to optimize charging performance and prevent overcharging.
- From the main menu, select 'Fast Charging' and confirm with 'OK' (C).
- Connect the power clamps to the battery.
- Select 'Battery Charging'.
- Choose the battery type (e.g., Standard Lead-acid, AGM Flat Plate, AGM Spiral, GEL, EFB).
- The device will automatically detect the battery's status and adjust the charging process. It stops automatically when fully charged.

Multi-Stage Smart Charging:
The EM355 employs a worry-free multi-stage smart charging process:
- Early-Stage Charging: Uses pulse charging, with charging power gradually increasing to optimize battery charging efficiency.
- Mid-Stage Charging: Quickly switches to high-power charging mode to enhance charging efficiency, allowing the battery to charge rapidly.
- Late-Stage Charging: Automatically switches to trickle charging mode as the battery approaches full charge and stops once fully charged to prevent overcharging risks.

5.3. Battery Restoration Function
This function uses advanced pulse restoration technology to quickly fix battery issues and restore the battery to a usable state. This is particularly useful for aging batteries that won't charge, batteries with insufficient voltage, or those in vehicles left idle for too long.
- From the main menu, select 'Battery Restoration' and confirm with 'OK' (C).
- Important: The battery must be removed from the vehicle before restoration.
- Connect the power clamps to the battery.
- The device will initiate the restoration process.
