4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Memory Card Installation and Formatting

The dash cam requires a Micro SD card (64GB minimum, 256GB maximum) of Class 10, U3 (UHS-1) Speed or above for video storage. We recommend using LEXAR High Endurance Micro SD cards.

  1. Insert the Micro SD card into the designated slot on the dash cam.
  2. Before first use, format the card directly on the Dash Cam. Navigate to the "Format" option in the Dash Cam's menu.
  3. Regularly check the memory card's condition. Repeated overwriting cycles can damage or deteriorate the card, affecting its ability to save files. Replace it immediately if this occurs.

4.2 Physical Installation

The TiESFONG RX4C is designed for easy and hidden installation within your vehicle. Ensure the dash cam host is mounted securely on your windshield, providing an unobstructed view of the road.

Figure 4.1: Hidden Installation Example
  • Mount the main dash cam unit on the front windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, to avoid obstructing your view.
  • Route the power cable (TYPE-C) and GPS cable discreetly along the edges of the windshield and dashboard to the power source.
  • For external Left & Right cameras (if included), install them on the outside of both car doors. These cameras are waterproof.
  • For the rear camera (if included), install it on the rear windshield. Note that the rear camera is not waterproof.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected and do not interfere with driving controls.

4.3 Power Connection

Connect the dash cam to your car's power supply using the provided P7 Hardwire Kit. The system supports 12V-24V car voltage.

Figure 4.3: Low-Voltage Protection Control Button

The low-voltage protection feature prevents draining your car battery. You can set the cutoff voltage to 11.8V, 12.0V, or 12.2V. A green light indicates battery voltage is safe, while a red light indicates it's below the protection value.

5. Operation

5.1 Basic Controls and Touch Screen Interface

The RX4C features a responsive 4-inch HD touch screen for easy navigation and control. You can access settings, review footage, and manage features directly from the screen.

Control methods include the APP, 5.8GHz WiFi, and physical buttons.

5.2 Recording Modes

The dash cam supports continuous loop recording. When the memory card is full, the oldest non-emergency footage will be overwritten. Emergency videos are protected from overwriting.

Storage capacity comparison for loop recording, showing RX4C provides double the recording time compared to others for 64G, 128G, and 256G cards.

5.3 G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)

The built-in G-Sensor automatically detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it locks the current video file to prevent it from being overwritten, securing critical evidence.

You can also manually lock footage via an on-screen button.

5.4 360° Radar Parking Monitor

The RX4C features a built-in 360° radar for 24/7 parking monitoring. It automatically records when parked, capturing approaching people or vehicles around your car.

  • One-Click Radar Control: Toggle the built-in radar ON/OFF with a single touch.
  • Two-Level Sensitivity: Customize detection precision with two sensitivity levels (1/2) to adapt to different parking environments.
  • Low-Voltage Protection: The system includes customizable voltage cutoffs (11.8V/12.0V/12.2V) to protect your car battery during parking monitoring.

5.5 Wi-Fi Connectivity (Viidure App)

Connect your dash cam to your smartphone via the built-in 5.8GHz Wi-Fi hotspot using the Viidure Free APP. This allows for quick file transfer and viewing of footage.

Note: Wi-Fi acts like a localized Bluetooth—it does not provide remote internet access or long-range connectivity.

5.6 GPS Tracking

The external GPS logger captures real-time location data (latitude, longitude), speed, and timestamp. This data can be reviewed during playback via the Viidure App or a computer for post-drive analysis and accurate trip logs.

Note: GPS Tracking does not provide remote real-time monitoring.

5.7 Starlight Night Vision

The RX4C utilizes WDR+HDR technology for Starlight Night Vision, automatically balancing light and dark areas to capture sharp facial features and license plates even in dim conditions.

5.8 Optional Accessory: TIESFONG YT25 CPL Filter

The TIESFONG YT25 CPL Optical Filter (sold separately) minimizes glare and boosts color saturation for professional-grade video. It reduces reflections from road surfaces and glass, enhances contrast for sharper details, and retains neutral tones for authentic color reproduction.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Temperature Resistance: The device is designed to operate in extreme temperatures from -20°C to 70°C. However, prolonged exposure to temperatures outside this range may affect performance and lifespan.
  • Image comparing cold resistance (-20°C) and hot resistance (65°C) of the dash cam, showing its ability to function in extreme weather conditions.
    Figure 6.1: Extreme Temperature Resistance
  • Memory Card Care: As mentioned in Setup, regularly check and replace the Micro SD card if it shows signs of damage or deterioration.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the TiESFONG official website or Viidure App for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Dash cam does not power on.Loose power connection, faulty power adapter, car battery low.Check power cable connection. Ensure car's ignition is on. Verify car battery voltage.
Recording stops unexpectedly.Memory card full, faulty memory card, power interruption.Format or replace the Micro SD card. Check power connection stability.
Poor video quality (blurry, grainy).Dirty lens, incorrect settings, extreme lighting conditions.Clean the lens. Adjust video resolution/exposure settings. Ensure Starlight Night Vision is active in low light.
Wi-Fi connection issues.Out of range, incorrect password, app issues.Ensure smartphone is within 3 meters of the dash cam. Re-enter Wi-Fi password. Restart Viidure App and dash cam.
Parking monitor not triggering.Radar disabled, sensitivity too low, power issues.Ensure radar is enabled. Adjust radar sensitivity (Level 1 or 2). Check low-voltage protection settings.
GPS not recording data.GPS cable disconnected, poor satellite signal.Check GPS cable connection. Ensure dash cam has a clear view of the sky.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Video Quality: For the clearest recordings, especially at night, ensure your windshield and dash cam lenses are clean.
  • Memory Card Maintenance: To prolong the life of your Micro SD card and prevent data loss, format it regularly (e.g., once a month) directly through the dash cam's menu. Always use a high-quality Class 10, U3 Micro SD card.
  • Parking Monitor Settings: Experiment with the two radar sensitivity levels to find the best setting for your typical parking environment, minimizing false triggers while ensuring effective monitoring.
  • App Connectivity: When transferring files via Wi-Fi, keep your smartphone close to the dash cam (within 3 meters) for a stable and fast connection.
