  • Regular Cleaning: Dust and debris can accumulate under keycaps and affect switch performance. Use a can of compressed air to blow out debris and a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keycaps and frame. For deeper cleaning, use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean the switch area.
  • Keycap and Switch Replacement: The hot-swappable design allows for easy replacement of keycaps and switches. Use the provided tools for safe removal and installation. Ensure the new switches are compatible (3-pin).
  • Cable Management: Keep the USB-C cable organized to prevent tangles and damage. When disconnecting, always pull from the connector, not the cable itself.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check the official Machenike website for any firmware or software updates for your keyboard to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.

7. Safety Guidelines

  • Avoid Spills: Keep liquids away from your mechanical keyboard. Spills can cause severe damage to the internal circuitry and void your warranty.
  • Handle Cable Carefully: When connecting or disconnecting the USB-C cable, always pull on the plug itself, not the cable. Forceful pulling on the cable can damage the connector or the cable.
  • Protect USB Connector: When the keyboard is not in use or being transported, ensure the USB-C port is protected from dust and physical damage.
  • Avoid Dropping: While mechanical keyboards are generally robust, harsh impacts from dropping can damage internal components or switches.
  • Battery Safety:
    • Replacing the battery with an incorrect type may defeat safeguards (e.g., in the case of some lithium battery types).
    • Disposing of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting a battery, can result in an explosion.
    • Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature environment can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
    • A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
    • Non-professionals should not disassemble or repair this product, as it may cause further damage to the product or personal injury!
    • Caution: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Consider Noise: Mechanical keyboards can be louder than membrane keyboards. Be mindful of your environment and others around you, especially in shared spaces.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard Not Responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is powered on and fully charged or connected via USB.
    • Check the mode switch (OFF/2.4G/BT) is in the correct position for your connection type.
    • Try testing the keyboard on a different device or a different USB port.
    • Perform a factory reset (FN + Esc for 3 seconds).
  • Incorrect Characters Displayed:
    • Verify your computer's language and regional settings match your keyboard layout (English).
    • Ensure no other keyboard layouts are accidentally activated.
  • Stuck Keys:
    • Physical obstructions like dust or crumbs can cause keys to stick. Gently remove the keycap with the provided puller and clean the switch area.
    • If a switch is faulty, use the switch puller to replace it with one of the spare switches.
  • Keyboard Lag or Disconnects (Wireless):
    • Ensure the keyboard battery is sufficiently charged.
    • Reduce interference by moving the keyboard closer to the receiver (2.4GHz dongle) or Bluetooth device.
    • Avoid placing large metal objects between the keyboard and receiver.
    • Close unnecessary background applications on your computer that might be consuming system resources.
  • Keyboard Not Recognized by Computer:
    • Restart your computer.
    • Try a different USB port or a different USB-C cable.
    • Test the keyboard on another device to rule out a computer-specific issue.
  • Keyboard Lights Not Working or Incorrect:
    • Check the lighting controls (FN + PgDn, FN + ↑/↓) to ensure they are not turned off or set to minimum brightness.
    • Perform a factory reset to restore default lighting settings.
  • Application Not Responding to Keyboard Input:
    • Check if the keyboard works in other applications or outside the problematic software.
    • If the issue is specific to an application, check the application's settings for keyboard input or hotkey conflicts.

9. User Tips

  • Experiment with Switches: Since the keyboard is hot-swappable, don't hesitate to try different switch types if you find your current ones aren't ideal for your typing or gaming style. Many users enjoy customizing their switches for a personalized feel.
  • PBT Keycap Longevity: The PBT keycaps are highly durable and resistant to shine. To maintain their textured feel, avoid using harsh chemicals for cleaning; a damp cloth is usually sufficient.
  • Wireless Mode for Portability: Utilize the 2.4GHz or Bluetooth modes for a clutter-free desk and enhanced portability, especially when using with laptops or tablets.
  • RGB Customization: Dive into the custom lighting effects to personalize your keyboard's look. This can significantly enhance your gaming setup's aesthetics.
  • Firmware Updates: Keep an eye on the official Machenike website for any firmware updates. These often bring performance improvements or new features.
