2.2 Mounting Location
- Choose a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
- Ensure the mounting surface can support the inverter's weight (26.8 kg).
- Maintain adequate clearance around the inverter for proper airflow and cooling. The inverter has an IP65 protection rating, suitable for outdoor installation, but protection from extreme weather is still recommended.
2.3 Electrical Connections
Refer to the following diagrams for typical wiring configurations. All wiring must comply with local electrical codes and standards.

Figure 2.4: General wiring diagram for a Deye Hybrid Inverter system, illustrating connections between solar panels, battery, hybrid inverter, backup load, on-grid home load, and the grid.
2.3.2 Battery Connection
- The inverter supports Lead-acid or Lithium-ion batteries with a voltage range of 40-60V.
- Ensure correct polarity when connecting the battery bank.
- The inverter supports multiple batteries in parallel.
2.3.3 PV Input Connection
- Connect solar panels to the MPPT trackers. The inverter has 2 MPPT trackers with 2+2 strings per tracker.
- Ensure the PV input voltage is within the MPPT voltage range (150-425V).
2.3.4 Grid and Load Connections
- Connect the grid input and output loads as per the system design.
- The inverter has separate ports for critical loads and the grid.
2.3.5 Diesel Generator Compatibility
The Deye Hybrid Inverter is compatible with diesel generators. It can send signals to start or stop the diesel generator based on certain conditions (e.g., battery State of Charge - SOC), helping to avoid wasting diesel oil and reducing noise from prolonged generator running.
2.4 Parallel Operation
The inverter supports parallel operation for up to 16 units for both on-grid and off-grid applications. This allows for scalability and increased power capacity.

3. Operating Instructions
The Deye Hybrid Inverter features a colorful touch LCD for easy monitoring and configuration. It offers several operating modes to suit different energy management needs.

Figure 3.1: The inverter's colorful touch LCD display for user interaction and monitoring.
3.1 Basic System Work Modes
Users can select from three primary operating modes:
- Selling First:
In this mode, the hybrid inverter prioritizes selling any excess power generated by the solar panels back to the grid. If "time of use" is active, battery energy can also be sold to the grid. The PV energy is first used to power the load and charge the battery, then excess energy flows to the grid. Power source priority for the load is: 1. Solar Panels, 2. Grid, 3. Battery (until a programmable discharge percentage is reached).
- Zero Export To Load:
The hybrid inverter will only provide power to the connected backup load. It will not provide power to the main home load or sell power to the grid. A built-in Current Transformer (CT) detects power flowing back to the grid and reduces the inverter's output to only supply the local load and charge the battery.

Figure 3.2: System diagram illustrating the "Zero Export To Load" operating mode.
- Zero Export To CT:
In this mode, the hybrid inverter provides power to both the backup load and the main home load. If PV power and battery power are insufficient, it will draw energy from the grid as a supplement. The inverter will not sell power to the grid. An external CT is required to detect power flowing back to the grid and will reduce the inverter's power to supply local loads, charge the battery, and power the home load.

Figure 3.3: System diagram illustrating the "Zero Export To CT" operating mode.
3.2 Smart Load Application
The Deye Hybrid Inverter supports "Smart Load Application". When PV power is sufficient and the battery bank State of Charge (SOC) exceeds 95%, the Smart Load Port will switch on automatically to power connected loads (e.g., water heaters). Conversely, when the battery bank SOC drops below 90%, the Smart Load Port will switch off automatically to conserve battery power.

Figure 3.4: Illustration of the Smart Load feature, showing automatic load switching based on battery SOC and programmable time periods.
3.3 Battery Charging/Discharging Schedule
The inverter allows for 6 programmable time periods for battery charging and discharging. This feature enables users to optimize energy usage by charging the battery during off-peak electricity rates and discharging during peak rates, thereby reducing electricity bills and supporting grid peak shaving.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Deye Hybrid Solar Power Inverter. Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically check the inverter for any visible damage, loose connections, or signs of corrosion.
- Cleaning: Keep the inverter's ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to ensure proper cooling. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or contact support for available firmware updates to ensure your inverter has the latest features and bug fixes.
- Battery Health: Monitor battery performance and health through the inverter's display or monitoring system. Follow battery manufacturer guidelines for maintenance.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Deye Hybrid Solar Power Inverter, refer to the following general troubleshooting steps. For complex problems, contact technical support.
- No Power/Display Off: Check all AC and DC circuit breakers. Ensure the battery is connected and charged.
- Inverter Not Producing Power: Verify that solar panels are receiving sufficient sunlight and are properly connected. Check for any error codes on the LCD display.
