The aMagisn Bluetooth Remote Controller is designed for seamless control of Insta360 and GoPro action cameras, as well as iOS and Android smartphones. Featuring Bluetooth 5.1 technology, it offers a stable remote control distance of up to 50 meters. Its waterproof design ensures durability in various environments, and a long-lasting battery provides up to 96 hours of continuous operation.

5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Remote Controller

Before first use, fully charge the remote controller.

  • Charging Input: 5V/100mA
  • Charging Time: Approximately 3 hours

5.2. Pairing with GoPro Cameras

  1. Briefly press the power button on the remote control to turn it on.
  2. Enable the camera's Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection.
  3. Press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds. If the blue indicator light remains illuminated, the connection is successful.

5.3. Pairing with Insta360 Cameras

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on the camera and press the power button on the remote control to power it on.
  2. Press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds. At this point, all three indicator lights on the remote control will illuminate simultaneously, indicating entry into pairing mode.
  3. Select the device named "Insta360 GPS Remote" in the camera's Bluetooth list.

5.4. Connecting to a New Device

To connect to a new device, follow these steps:

  1. You must pair the remote control with the new device. Also, remove the original camera's battery to ensure the remote control does not reconnect to it.
  2. Navigate to the Bluetooth settings page of the new camera and delete all previously paired remote controllers.
  3. Press and hold the mode button for 3 seconds. At this point, all three indicator lights on the remote control will illuminate simultaneously, indicating entry into pairing mode.
  4. Select the device named "Insta360 GPS Remote" in the camera's Bluetooth list.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Button Operation

  • Power Button:
    • Brief press (power-off state): To wake up the remote control and its most recent connection with the camera.
    • Ultra-long press (power-on state): To turn off the remote control and the camera.
    • Brief press (power-on state): To check the battery level of the remote control, turn on/off the screen of Insta360 cameras, or switch to sub-mode of Hero cameras.
  • Mode Switch Button:
    • Brief press: To switch modes and mark a video of Insta360 cameras, switch to the major mode and record a Highlight video of Hero cameras.
    • Ultra-long press: Force the remote to re-pair with a new camera.
  • Shutter Button:
    • When powered on: To start/stop recording.
    • Brief press (power-off state): To wake up the camera that was last turned off via the remote control and start recording.
    • Long press: Switches the lens on Insta360 panoramic cameras.

Note: 0.1s < brief press < 1.5s; 1.5s < long press < 3s; 3s < ultra-long press.

6.2. Light Indicators

  • Red Light and Green Light (Battery Level - Press Power Button):
    • Solid green light: Battery level is between 10% and 100%.
    • Flashing green light: Battery level is between 0% and 10%.
    • Flashing red light: Battery level is at 0%.
  • Blue Light (Bluetooth Status):
    • Solid blue light: Bluetooth is connected.
    • Blinking blue light with power light off: Waiting to connect to the last connected device.
    • Alternating blue, red, and green light flashes: Camera is waiting to pair with a new device.
  • In Charging:
    • Solid red light: Charging in progress, battery not yet full.
    • Solid green light: Charging in progress, battery is full.

6.3. General Usage

  1. Press the power button while the device is powered off. Simultaneously power on both the remote control and the camera.
  2. Press the mode button to set the camera to main mode.
  3. Press the power button to switch the camera to sub-mode.
  4. Press the shutter button to start recording; press it again to stop recording.
  5. Press and hold the power button for three seconds to power off both the remote control and the camera simultaneously.

7. Installation & Mounting

The remote controller is designed for versatile installation, allowing for both horizontal and vertical mounting. The four sides of the remote control have through holes, enabling the wristband to be worn horizontally or vertically. This ensures the remote control remains in the correct orientation when fixed on accessories like selfie sticks, handlebars, or steering wheels.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to the charging cable and check the red/green indicator lights.
  • Unable to pair with camera:
    • Make sure the camera's Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is enabled.
    • Ensure the remote is in pairing mode (alternating blue, red, and green lights).
    • For new devices, remove any previously paired remote controllers from the camera's Bluetooth settings.
    • Try removing the camera's original battery during pairing to prevent reconnection issues.
  • Remote not controlling camera: Ensure the remote is successfully paired (solid blue light). Check if the camera is in the correct mode (main/sub).
  • Limited range: Ensure there are no significant obstructions between the remote and the camera. The stated 50m range is measured in open outdoor environments.

10. User Tips

  • This remote controller is designed to pair with and control one camera or smartphone at a time. It does not support multi-camera simultaneous control.
  • For optimal performance and battery life, ensure the remote is fully charged before extended use.
  • When attaching to handlebars or selfie sticks, use the appropriate wristband and ensure the remote is securely fastened to maintain the correct orientation.
