6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Thermal Imaging

Upon powering on, the camera will display a thermal image. The screen shows temperature readings, battery status, and other relevant information. The ET693C features a 256x192 infrared resolution, enhanced to 512x384 with Super IR technology for clearer and more accurate images.

6.2. Image Modes

The camera supports various imaging modes to suit different scenarios:

  • Single Infrared: Displays only the thermal image.
  • Visible Light: Displays only the visible light image from the 1080P camera.
  • Outline Fusion: Overlays the outline of the visible light image onto the thermal image.
  • Overlay Fusion: Blends the visible light image with the thermal image.
  • Picture-in-Picture Mode: Displays a smaller visible light image within the thermal image.

Note on Fusion Modes: The recommended distance for visible light fusion (outline fusion, overlay fusion) effect is 1m-5m. Do not use it too close as it will exceed the range of Offset adjustment. You can adjust the fusion percentage (0-100%) and offset between thermal and visible images in the settings.

6.10. Calibration

In order to correct non-uniformity, a mechanical control calibration plate is installed in front of the thermal imaging detector. This plate will be calibrated approximately every 10 seconds to ensure more accurate measurements. This typically causes a brief pause of about 1-2 seconds, which is a normal phenomenon during thermal imaging detector calibration.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months to maintain battery health.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TOOLTOP ET693C, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Image unclear or distorted: Check the focus (if adjustable) and ensure the lens is clean. If using fusion modes, verify the object is within the recommended 1m-5m distance.
  • Temperature readings seem inaccurate: Ensure the emissivity setting is correct for the material being measured. Allow for the automatic calibration process to complete.
  • Cannot connect to PC: Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the camera and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.

If the problem persists, please contact customer support.
